I recently watched "Once Upon a Time in America"
My reaction during most of the movie:
Seriously, I do recommend it, but it's one of the most relentlessly brutal, horrible, and sad movies I've ever watched. The main characters both succeed in going completely off the deep end in their own ways, and then fathoming the bottom of the damn Movie Morality Marianas Trench, and just when you think the movie's gotten as horrifying as it can get, it blindsides you again. Great movie, but it made me flinch more than "Saving Private Ryan" did.
On a completely unrelated note: never play the David Lynch Drinking Game. What is that, you ask?
It's where you watch a David Lynch movie and take a drink every time nothing makes sense.
It. Will. Kill. You.
