Default Dead Rising 3

So, everyone was worried that this game was taking a turn for the serious back when this was announced, well I found these screenshots and am a little more hopeful.

Also Dead Rising 3 thread. If someone wants to we could probably fuse all the Dead Rising threads into one and make a general, like a lot of threads have been turned into.

It's the only Xbox One game that seriously interests me (since Killer Instinct is looking like an abomination).

Thankfully, one of my good friends is getting an Xbox One. Now I can just buy the game myself and play it to my heart's content!

Killer Instinct isn't looking quite as bad as it had when it was first announced, to be fair.

I still don't like the fighting mechanics and the character design is complete garbage so far.

But, hey, that's just what I think. At least it's going to be (sort of) free.

I guess I'll just add that a lot of people seem to disagree as of late and leave it at that. I'll definitely be giving it a try, as it's free.

An interview with Capcom regarding the E3 reveal looking too serious.

To sum it up, they presented the horror aspect of the game first because they didn't want the first impression to be that the game would inly be silly.

There's still comedy to be found in the outfits, and the weapons, and they're suggesting outrageous stuff like the psychopath boss fights are still in.

So, basically it's the Dead Rising everyone loved before, don't base everything on the reveal, the comedy isn't gone.

I've been playing this extensively at a friend's house.

From the reviews I've seen, the majority of the complaints come from Dead Rising 3 being . . . too much like a Dead Rising game. I guess since it's been 3 years since Dead Rising 2, people expected them to casualize the fuck out of the game in every single aspect. Nope, you still have to put effort in sometimes!

Besides, this game is still ridiculously easy compared to the previous games. Mainly because of things like auto-saving and having unlimited inventory of any items you pick up/combine. Literally everything is available at no cost and in unlimited supply in all safe house lockers you own. This includes vehicles you combined together when it comes to garages. That's so . . . convenient.

The cut scenes are also very extensive . . . perhaps too extensive. The story isn't gripping me, I have to admit. I know it's not the biggest concern for a Dead Rising game, but the previous games did it better.

Also, about the protagonist. Nick Ramos? He's such a god damn puss. I seriously want to pass through the screen and dump his items, he's such a fucking lame character. He's no Chuck Greene and he isn't even close to a tiny fraction of Frank West.

Even so, this game is good. Finding all the collectibles and mowing down baddies with some pretty sweet weapon combinations are very satisfying. They also heavily improved the upgrade system. Instead of it just being a roulette, you choose what you want upgraded next.

As soon as I get my own Xbox One, I'm gonna destroy this game. It may be a little too easy, but it's still pretty damn fun.

So this game just released the possibly the biggest update ever on a console. IT is 13 gigs but it containts all the assets for the DLC. The DLC itself is single player but it does add some new stuff to the main game. They mainly did this for co-op compatibility.

This game IMO is the reason to own an Xbone right now. It and Killer Instinct.

That is stupid. There had to have been another way to make that work. Capcom always pulls the weirdest shit with DLC.

Like say an optional free Compatibility Pack download in the DLC section?

I am hoping that this patch has the assets to all the DLC. If not that is going to be alot of patches.

Yeah, like making it optional. Any other publisher does when they release compatibility packs that are larger like that.

And it is not like the DLC was even that great. I just tried some of it. Just going to say some pro/cons for the DLC.

Pros:
Character level carriers over
New weapons/vehicles/weapon combos carry over to the main game
The gasing of the home bases optional mission
Can find all the collectables from the main game if you prefer

Cons:
Exact same map as the main game so don't expect a Case West/Zero
No multiplayer at all
The collect the soldier's dog tags option missions
Story is crap since they played it too straight
Mainly a go here and grab something quests
Main character has no personality

Another con: Short as fuck. It was the first thing I streamed and everyone watching, including myself, was like "That's it?!"

I hate that you can't select him as a character when you're the co-op partner joining someone else's game.

How'd you stream it? Got your own setup, or did they finally update Twitch to do that?

I have my own setup. They are suppose to release an update in the future that lets you stream straight from the Xbox One, though.

No, I know. Just didn't think they had already. Pretty sure the first real update for it comes out in two days and still has none of that.

The Fallen Angel DLC is even shorter . . . ugh.

They're not going to give anything as substantial as Case West. Not even anything as substantial as Case 0. It's just sidestories about irrelevant characters.
