My posture's never been great. I tell myself it's mostly because I have a lot of weight pulling me down.

Broke the 2 mile mark.

No matter how the rest of the day goes, it'll be a good day because of that.

Do not, do not, do not try and learn boxing without at least wrapping your hands.

The sheared skin on my knuckles is still healing, and I'm almost certain I sprained my wrists least week.

But now I'm wrapping them and mitigating future injury.

Off to the gym!

Oh god, learned that the hard way, Kyle. My hands wouldn't stop trembling either.

My right ankle is super stiff right now. Soaked it in hot water... Lets hope it isn't anything that'll stop me from running Wednesday.

Today my knee reminded me not to walk home from school while carrying heavy books, i thought it was gonna be good exercise but the pain is not worth it.

It's both weird and thrilling that I can wake up, throw on a pair of size 38 jeans, and be completely comfortable.

Kind of wish I could find jeans that fit. I've worn 32x32 for years but they still have a tendency to slip without a belt.

I'm so glad I have a fast metabolism, I'd have gained so much weight because of all the stupid shit I eat all the time combined with my lack of real excersize.

I'd like to start building some upper-body muscle, but I don't have any equipment. My mom used to go to the gym frequently and could possibly get me a discount on a membership though, I just gotta talk to her about it. Any suggestions for at-home work outs though?

So, it's been immensely difficult but I'm going to work harder to follow a diet I've set for myself where I only eat meat once a day.

Obviously still consuming eggs and milk as from my research both have benefits which outweigh the risks.

But goddamn it's hard to avoid eating meat.

Scale said I weighed 210.8 this morning. Let me tell you why that's bullshit: I was 213.6 yesterday.

Your weight can fluctuate about 5lbs either way day to day. Water retention, hydration, food and waste, etc.

Yeah, I figured it was normal to fluctuate -- just not quite that much. After today's workout, it says 212. That's a little more in line with what I was hoping to see, and it'd be nice if it means I've turned a corner and dropped a bit more. Still going to keep going.

Scale this morning when I got up said 210.6. I sorta want to believe it this time.

20 minutes of walking, 20 minutes of killing myself with weights, then 20 more minutes of walking.

My ankle is feeling better now, I'm not in pain anymore, but I'm going to hold back from running for another week, at least, just to be on the safe side.

Same today as last time. Only, you know, more pain since my muscles were still sore.

I swear, though, I can handle planks and squats, but lunges? Jesus Christ, lunges are my bane.

Which, of course, means I need to keep doing them!

Scale says 210.4 this morning. I know that's from the usual overnight fasting that happens when you sleep, and that it'll bump up a bit today, but that's still awesome. Lately, my high point during the day seems to be about 212.5, and my low point is about a pound less. Initially I got a 209.6 reading and was super-excited, but I don't think I was weighing myself properly. Tried again and got the 210.4. Still, a great reading, and I'm hoping I can genuinely break 209 soon. Inching closer.

Every reading I get from the scale this morning says 209. Huzzah! I've felt myself gradually growing smaller.

You're doing great Frent. Keep it up!

I'm running again more now, as well as combatives (like Army wrestling) and the regular workout. Not sure if it's the stress or my new diet but I'm feeling a bit more tired lately. I think it's adjustment as well as the added pressures of life getting to me.

My blood pressure, usually in the 140/80 range, is down to 130/65 ish the last two times I checked! I might not have a stroke at the age of 40 like the rest of my family woo. I've had high blood pressure since the first time I checked when I was about 16.

Not to get presumptuous, but... I've noticed I've had to pull up my 38s a couple of times now. Six notches in my belt feels like how five notches used to -- enough to hold the pants, but maybe a tad looser than I'd like. I actually tried going to seven (!) notches and I can do it. But that's still a tad tight. So, for now, I'll cope.

For a guy who just last year was at four belt notches, this is a hell of a thing.

Oh, and I finally bought sneakers that fit well, so I'm eager to see how this helps improve my balance when I work out.

It's kinda crazy how running a mile used to be a big deal for me, and now it's like if I don't hit the 2 mile mark, I don't consider it a legitimate run.

Jeans fit better each day. Scale says 207.4 this morning; not sure I believe that.

Got 207.6 this morning; starting to believe it. Maybe I'm hovering between 208-209 now, at most.

Scale said 204.6 yesterday, which I thought was crap because I was at 206.4 at the same time the previous day. But this morning it said 204.2. So right now I'm wanting to believe I'm at 205 pounds -- and thus 10 pounds lighter than I was when I started this effort back in early February.

I don't put a lot of stock in BMI, but I took a reading out of curiosity. I'm out of the obese category and into the overweight one now, so that's good. The crazy part, though, is that it says -- and I used the CDC's website, mind you -- that a healthy weight for someone six feet tall is between 136 (!!) and 184. The high end seems a tad light, and the low end is definitely low, IMO. I want to see what I'm like at 195, if I make it that far, and then see how much farther I can/want to go. I think at most, unless I just start really going nuts about it, I'll stop at 185 or so.

When I was working I was spending upwards of 20 hours a week running up and down stairs with heavy things and spending around 40 hours a week just being on my feet for 4-8 hours at a time.

Now the most exercise I've been getting lately is cleaning the house. :I I should start running again, since I stopped in the first place because of the first mentioned job. It would make me feel like I had more energy, at the least, and would likely put me in a better head space, since being unemployed and having a hard time finding a job is depressing.
