Started reading The Wonderful Wizard of Oz again. Everyone looks steampunk with their goggles on. Pretty spiffy.

Tin Woodsman is too manly

I just finished that. It's really really cool and I'm in love with the art style.

Finally got around to reading Superman: Red Son. Ending caught me by surprise.

Good read overall, too bad Supes sucks in general.

Green Lantern books have been great, I'm really loving the Blackest Night, and Larfleeze, always Larfleeze.

On another note, the Superman books have been good too.

King City is like Scott Pilgrim crossed with Transmetropolitan. LET THAT SINK IN FOR A SECOND.

I'm on real Darkseid kick for some reason. Are there any good Darkseid stories I could pick up? Is Final Crisis a good Darkseid story?

Just kinda interjecting some opinions and information.

I like Marvel, I make fun of DC without actually reading the comics though I expect I'd like some of them if I did read them (Blackest Night looks cool), I like Dr. Doom, Domino, Thor, Cap and shit, I hate Wolverine. I wish Deadpool comics took a more serious tone and less lol-ten-thousand-pancakes bullshit. I subscribed to Deadpool and Uncanny X-men on a whim as they were something I was familiar with. I read what I can on /co/ and am considering subscribing to Siege or some additional new title and wouldn't mind suggestions as to what. I need to piss.

download comics off of /rs/

Also all of my suggestions are stuff you'd have to backorder or get in collection. I honestly don't think any current ongoing super hero comic is especially good outside of Invincible. I guess you could count Atomic Robo too, but he's more of what current Deadpool should be than anything else.

I have, but only for things that I've gotten acquainted with on /co/. Someone posts a page with Doom DOOM!ing, and I grab the issue, maybe go to /rs/ and pick up a previous one.

Well I haven't touched a marvel book since civil war, not counting X-men story I bought for a friend. But from DC, -I- like Green lantern Corps, which deals with other members of the green lanterns outside that dick Hal Jordan. As a bonus, a pretty big part of blackest night!

For other stuff...Ves mentioned Invincible which is a dandy read. Really behind on the comic scene, so there's nothing else really I know about.

Invincible looks so generic and dumb. Am I missing the point? Is that how it's supposed to look, it's just being ironic and I'm supposed to appreciate that about it?

I've been meaning to do this for a loooooong time, but every bookstore I go to never has the first one. I've never cared enough to just order online, so still I wait.

I've been reading some of the older Claremont X-Men stuff, just finished the Dark Phoenix saga. It is pretty good.

Invincible is a damn good comic book.

Abe Lincoln is an immortal superhero who eventually goes insane and becomes the tyrant king of Earth in the future.

Oh Prof, I got sidetracked by personal stuff, and I could make the list in a few minutes but I wanted to write blurbs and shit. I'll try to get it done tomorrow because I shouldn't have a bunch of shit to work through.

Well, I was asking seriously, not in a mocking manner. Kickery insisted a couple years back that I stop watching anime garbage and start reading good comic books. Then he suggested Invincible. I remember looking into it and not seeing anything at all that jumped out at me about it. Seemed pretty generic, but that was just from a glance at the comic and a general synopsis. I haven't actually read one.

It plays off of superhero tropes and is excessively gorey for no particular reason.

It isn't "good" exactly, but it is certainly entertaining if you like playing with tropes and dudes getting punched in half.
