Default Forum members, I need your assistance in building a PC!

As noted by the thread title, I have come asking those of you who will look in this thread who are knowledgeable in the subject of PCs for help in building one. I know some things, but I don't want to screw up anything, no shame in asking for help. Looking mainly for a gaming PC and I know I probably won't need more then 4GB of RAM for something like that. My main objective is to be able to run Just Cause 2 and most games in general.

And I guess that is pretty much it.

Do you want something to get the job done, or something to get the job done well?

From experience PC building is pretty straight forward, only hard part I find in attaching the on switch to the motherboard. If your current motherboard has two RAM slots then you might as well just build on it unless you're looking make a computer to keep up with games for the next decade or something.

Being a Dell computer I take that it's one of those small desktops?

Don't listen to Mega.

The problem with using the current mobo is that the socket used on it for the p4 and the supported RAM is probably DDR2 and only 2GB.

Being limited in what you can do processor wise and ram wise is not a good idea.

Edit:

Also do you need to buy an OS?

Not to mention that mobo doesn't have a PCI-E slot, he's using an AGP 7600

Yeah, I'll probably need to buy Windows 7 or something, but I might be able to easily obtain a copy with the help of my dad because of his line of work, have to check with him.
