Huh, I didn't know that was a popular comparison. There are a lot of similarities I suppose. Party sizes of 4, active combat with active blocking and dodging, heavy on instances, breakable monster parts, what Dia said, etc. One of the things I disliked is how combat felt a lot less fluid than on Monster Hunter Tri. Strange, that. I'm probably still getting used to the combat. One thing Monster Hunter wins on is not making you fight through trash mobs to get to the boss. Maybe if they weren't just a bunch of brain-dead punching bags, at least on Lann.

I haven't got bored of throwing Kobolds into their houses yet.

Iunno, personally it's fast paced enough for me to not get bored of fighting trash mobs. And Monster Hunter puts a whole lot more into their Boss fights... Considering they last like.. 30 minutes most the time. While in Vindictus it's possible to do things a lot faster.
It would be nice if hits actually felt like they really hit harrrd like they do against bosses in Monster Hunter, like smacking Great Jaggi down with a perfectly timed Great Sword charge, but it feels fluid enough, imo.

Monster Hunter Tri's combat isn't the most fluid thing. It's not terrible but if you're comparing this game to it and it has the short end of the stick. Yeesh.

We should all play Tri sometime.
That'd be fun... I'd love to get back into that game.

It's true. You are gay and you are also a foo.

Also, screens! I played this with Dia tonight. I must admit, boss cam is pretty cool.

My story so far!

Really? I didn't have a problem with this last night while I was playing with a friend of mine. They telegraph their attacks like crazy, and while it would be much easier as Fiona just blocking it, I made myself well aware of "I don't get to block" and got hit by the double large swings only once, only because I wasn't expecting the follow-up.

Well, yes. To be fair, it is. You go to town, pick up quests, repair, talk to people, buy things, whatever else. Then you head to a board out by the docks, call for a ship, and go out with one to three other players and complete said quests.

I think the combat is far more fluid and fun, though. Not much deeper, but just more responsive.

It's a bit simpler.
But yeah, generally.

There's that emphasis on attacking and dodging/blocking when you can and bosses drop mats that you need to craft armor at shops.

I wonder how long it'll be till we see the back 2 characters in the Character creation scene..

Apparently they're not even out in Korean yet. Evie is, so she'll be here whenever they finish her.

But still, one guy's probably a 2-handed weapon user..
I'm not sure what the last guy would be...

Archer, maybe?

According to the Wiki a friend mentioned to me last night they are:
1) A Magician girl
2) A huge dude wielding a giant pillar/pole/column thing
3) Some guy dressed like a Druid.

Reliability of this source material is debatable, but that's what I got.

One of them is a hunter, at least I am fairly sure, can see a bow and his whole outfit screams either druid or archer... Quiver of arrows on his back is a dead giveaway too XD

One of my killcam "stills" was a close up of my characters chest as it bounced up and down.... Either the game did it on purpose or that is one hilariously mis-placed camera...
