Published by Square Enix and developed by Dontnod, whose only other game has been Remember Me (LOL LOL NO I DON'T LOL ROFL). It's episodic, is largely narrative driven, doesn't really focus on combat, and is going to start releasing on the 30th.
I need a day off to just run through this entire episode in a sitting, but I like what I've played so far. The dialogue started off like it was just trying way too hard, and the animation bothered me, but I think I just got used to the latter and the former... I guess it cleared up a bit for the time being? I dunno, but I enjoy it for the most part thus far.
I want more games like this, that are just talking to people and choices.
Finally played through Episode 1 of this after watching a bit of an LP and decided I was interested in it. The plot and premise is pretty cool, and while the dialogue is really embarrassing, it also feels completely fitting because they're a bunch of stupid teenagers and will look back on this with said embarrassment.
Spoiler for ending spoilers for episode 1:
Though if that tornado and snow is seriously just because "GLOBAL WARMING AND CLIMATE CHANGE GASP THE DAY AFTER TOMORROW" i'm gonna be hella disappointed. Everything about that tornado is super unnatural and if Max's new found power is not somehow linked to it, that'd be some shit.
I had pretty much dropped everything all episode to be a good friend to Kate. I told her to go to the police. I pissed Chloe off to take her call. I wiped the garbage some bitch keeps putting on her dry erase board off. I defended her any and every opportunity I could. Then it got to the point where she was getting ready to kill herself and I lost my power to rewind and I was like, goddamnit, I can't slip up at all.
I guess I said all the right things, because she came down off the edge of the roof and grabbed my hand. Then I turned Nathan in, 'cause fuck that shitbird. I don't care if they believe me or not. I want the truth out there.
The fucking ending was tense as hell with the fact you couldn't rewind to change things with Kate. I basically felt all the tension let go and start breathing again as I managed to stop her from jumping.
Shit's getting real. That solar eclipse at the end was freaky.
