Fantagraphics Kickstarter

Not gaming related but whatever. Fantagraphics is raising money to help cover costs after Kim Thompson's passing took a bunch of books out of 2014's line-up. They're the best artistically driven comic company out there and it's pretty understandable why they need help, especially since they just scrape by at the best of times. But the rewards are fucking incredible. Signed prints and books and t-shirts and portfolio review stuff and custom mixtapes by comic artists. There's one where you get to pick an out of print book from their archives and that is the stuff dreams are made of.

I don't know. I'm going to give to it once I decide if I want a shirt or a signed/sketched book.

You Are Not The Hero

This has already been funded, but it made me laugh. I'll probably play it.

Quote:
You Are Not The Hero is a 2D Action Platform RPG that ditches the battle system to focus on richer RPG gameplay elements. Instead of playing a traditional hero that saves the world, you're playing a bystander swept into the affairs of heroes and villains alike.

You play as Petula, an unemployed, emotionally charged, ill-tempered, otherwise average young woman. With the royal army hot on their heels, the heroes have made their way to your village where they begin scavenging for supplies in everyone's homes. After you confront them for stealing your pendant, they rush off to continue their quest, giving you a quest of your own to retrieve it.

So hey, since this is the closest thread we have for Shovel Knight, they started rolling out e-mails for the Humble Bundle pages of kickstarter backers now and would anybody know if they're slow-rolling out? I've yet to receive mine.

EDIT: Okay, from a random quick look, it seems they've yet to send them out yet? I guess the context of the Kickstarter update back ago sorta messed with me.

Kickstarter generally works in the order the donation was received so if you donated a bit later in the campaign it takes a little bit longer to get the e-mails, too

I chose 3DS when they sent that survey out so I can't help much there. But they seem pretty good about answering questions on their twitter too? @YachtClubGames

Important Kickstarter Security Notice (in case you didn't get the e-mail or see it on Twitter for whatever reason).

Not sure about some of those bonuses. "Shaq follows you on Instagram." "Shaq follows you on Twitter."

Yeah, they're pretty dumb.

And I'm not sure if Shaq understands that people remember the first game so well because it was so bad and bizarre. Not sure if a good one would be worth the effort.

Couldn't Shaq just fund this with his pocket change?

Nah, he already spent that on his share of the Sacramento Kings.

It seems more likely they are paying Shaq for his likeness and not the other way around. I do like how 5% of the funds goes towards charity but I doubt I will be funding this.

Shaq's neck muscles for his character model scares me.

I doubt that is the case. Shaq is full of himself and has mentioned Shaq Fu many times over the years. I'm sure he wants to have this game made more than anyone. And this campaign smacks of it.

So the kickstarter game Super Action Squad from the people that made Super Mario Crossover is being put on indefinite hold.

Indivisible

Quote:
Lab Zero is proud to announce that we’re partnering with 505 Games to develop a new action/RPG, currently titled Indivisible.

Indivisible is inspired by classics like Valkyrie Profile and Super Metroid, but with the unique character, world, and gameplay depth Lab Zero is known for, and will feature a stunning soundtrack by legendary Japanese game music composer, Hiroki Kikuta.

Indivisible will be released on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Steam Windows / Mac / Linux. The final product will support the English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Japanese and Russian languages.

There's a prototype demo you can try, it's very nice looking and pretty fun.

Would love a Vita version, so I've got my fingers crossed for that to be added via Stretch Goals or just future porting, but for now I'm gonna be donating enough for a digital copy on the PS4.

One week left on the Indivisible fundraiser and it's $350,000 away from getting the minimum.

A little worried that it won't make it, I know every Kickstarter project gets a huge boost in funds right before the end, especially in cases like this where it's just short of being funded, but still. First time finally contributing to one of these and I'd hate for it to fail, game looks great.

well it's an indiegogo not a kickstarter so
when the time runs out they still keep the money that has been donated to use on the game
