I dunno, I'm getting the opposite experience. My main pawn is a mage and I'm watching it shit over everything while my fighter pawns tank everything. I almost feel like I've got the lowest damage output of the party. Regardless, I'm enjoying being an assassin. It gives me the option of range combat when I need higher damage output, but I can also just throw on a sword and board combo to tank shit.

I just really wish during that one story quest, or whatever, I knew sooner that the cutscene teleported my dying pawns to me. Would've saved me a lot of time and grief.

So yeah, I'm enjoying this game (and mage skills) a lot more as I play. I like how if you switch your class, any relevant skills from another class carry over to your new one.

Yeah probably. I headed back towards the starting area to do some basic quests I skipped over and have been reworking my party, and just generally planning things out better. I stumbled upon a cyclops who we dispatched pretty easily. I have a giant of a man named Divvaren with a hammer, and then my main pawn pelted it with arrows while me and my mage pawn slapped fireballs at it's face. It was nice to bring down something big like that with just my party.

It's fun! Trying to save up for a shield because I switched to a warrior mage type class that has magical shield powers, which I figured I'd combine with my staff. He can also switch to a sword. My one complaint is that I wish there was an easy way to switch between primary weapons.

Hm, I guess the mystic knight class can get some spells he can use even with a sword equipped. That sounds perfect.

This game has been amazing for me.

Combat has been a blast, the soundtrack is great (even that cheesy SUPAH ANIME song at the beginning is amazing just for how out of place it is) and just the whole world feels alive and awesome.
Most issues I have with it are minor ones, like... Not being able to see the levels of quests making it hard to know where to go early on, but later on everything seems to balance out... I don't die near as often. The story has also been lackluster as said, but I didn't get it for the story.
There are some other things, but... I've been pretty much in love with this game since Tuesday. Nice last Hurrah for gaming before I lose my ability to do so.

And Ace, if you release Div and summon him back, he should be his updated level!

Beat the game and went into New Game+.

New Game+ keeps your levels and gear, but does not scale with you (and the max level is 200... GG, Capcom).
Nevertheless, I had a blast... I don't want to start a NEW New game because I don't want all that work just shoved under a rug.. Especially with others using Div (Or Sedge now, if you've released Div).
But with only one Save file, it kind of locks you in.

Thinking of just doing a Challenge on this run.. Since I'm so grossly over leveled, only using my now Sorceror and Sedge. Relying on Curatives rather than magic (though by the end I was quaffing down potions and herbs like nobody's business).

Spoiler for For thou who hath slain thy Dragon:

Don't turn in the quest to turn in Wake Stones until you're sure you're done with the game.

Also, Magic Archer is pretty fuckin rad.

So outta curiosity, who do I look forward to owning this on the PS3 so I can trade my pawns with?

By the way, Dia, apparently this game has the ability for you to take screenshots in the game? I do hope so.

It allows you to post screenshots right on Facebook, yeah.

Kind of wish I could just take them and save them for later or something though.
I wanted to take screenshots of Endgame stuff but that'd be spoilers .

Yeah I'm sure I'll grab Div again once I'm a little higher level. He'd probably be a little too powerful for me right now. But I'll definitely be recruiting him again, he's basically my favorite pawn. Sorry for sending a rock too! I figured I could send more than one thing.

:>
He's Sedge now since I started new characters for the New Game+.

After the ending it didn't feel right just doing the same characters.

Yeah I saw when I searched friends you had one named Sedge, which confused me a little. Good to know though! He'll always be Divarren to me.

I used Sedge for one escort quest, though I'll probably get someone closer to my level at the next stone. I like the cut of his jib.

Also, I fucking love the two pure yellow archer classes.

Spoiler for story:
I've done like, the four Main story quests that whatshisface in the noble quartes gave me.

Then I chose the duke quest and got a POINT OF NO RETURN MOTHAFUCKA prompt.

Is the Main quest seriously that short? Really?

I've like, crashed one cultist party and given some slabs to a fat man.

Spoiler for Salvation quest options:
So what sort of stuff do you get to do if you kill the cultist for Mason? I feel like a chump for walking out, especially since he just kills him anyway.

I love the pawn system so much. Being able to kinda help friends through giving their pawns (and my own) quest knowledge rocks.

Looking at some of the pawns over at NeoGAF, someone made a pretty convincing Triple H. THE CEREBRAL ASSASSIN.

So when that guy who gives you quests from the Duke tells you that the Duke wants to see you, but doing so will cancel current quests, he just means quests from him, right? Notice board quests and other such things won't be affected?

Just the quests he gives you, yes. No more. Then the game continues and you get more quests and shit.

Frig, got this a week + a day ago and I'm just getting around to playing it now. Just installing it first since I hear there's issues that are fixed if you install first.
