Excuse the fucking shit out of me. I only brought that up because of all the bull crap between Capcom, Inafune and all of the Megaman drama as of late. I realize that MM is a touchy subject for a lot of people but you must be pretty goddamn stupid to be throwing me in to that group. The games I liked out of that franchise consist of Legends and that's it. I read to much into it. Go fuck yourself.

So I tried the demo. I really love being able to jump and grab onto the big monster's head and just whack at it. However, the repetitive pawn dialogue annoys me to hell.

I've heard that there's an option for that in the full game.

I enjoyed the heck out of this demo. And it promises open world and stuff? Sounds cool.

Customization was sweet, gameplay was sweet. It's like Dark Souls, but multiplayer and really felt highly DnD-ish.

I'm really trying to get this.

Wait then whats the point of the whole "Select your moniker so other players with parental controls may see your name" thing?

That sounds ENTIRELY like multiplayer.

You can send your pawns off to fight with other players. That's the "Multiplayer" part of this game. Then, they come back to you with stuff or whatever. They're like the cats from MH.

So yeah. This is what I've read, but I may be wrong. Correct me if I am.

Also, everyone on this forum is way too gosh damn sensitive lately. Jeeze.

Yeah, you pick the moniker so if someone with parental controls on brings your pawn along instead of being Danklord420 you're Ryu. You never directly play with anyone else ever, but you can bring their character along with you and it'll be AI controlled. Their reasoning and logic behind the no multiplayer decision was really poorly founded but I've been interested in this as a singleplayer game anyway. Toning down Pawn dialogue sounds like it would make the game a LOT better.

Yeah, I still haven't gotten to play the demo, but watching footage in the past, the sheer amount of speaking the Pawns do, coupled with their repetitive dialogue, just kinda started to grind on my nerves after a while. I think the worst was watching someone fight a golem where everyone kept going "MAYBE YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO HIT THE MAGICAL DISCS" and I'm just sitting there like "YES, WE KNOW. SHUT THE HELL UP!"

That is honestly the only thing pissing me off. That and having four pawns probably makes the game super easy.

It's like old cartoons back then that had no pauses. It was just noise, noise, noise. But since this is a game, your immersion is constantly getting ruined. I mean, I'm happy they gave the pawns dialogue, but holy shit, too much dialogue.

But hey, if we can clean up the HUD, then maybe we can limit their dialogue, and if not, then I guess I'll be doing a solo run?

I'm super ultra excited for this. The demo left a lot to be seen, and the multiplayer sounds weird, but I honestly didn't think there was going to be any multiplayer at all until I saw the Moniker thing.

That system sounds funky, so we'll see how that goes.

But yeah this seems like DnD, Dark Souls, and Monster Hunter all bound up in one. And Shadow of the Colossus.
From the Resident Evil 4/Devil May Cry guys so I hear.

Tried the demo, watching the pawns jump on top of monsters and murder them looked cool as fuck (sans the constant dialogue) but it wasn't much fun to play. In every encounter before the boss fights the most difficult aspect of the gameplay was getting to hit enemies before the pawns killed them for me and the bossfights themselves felt really boring because all I was doing was holding RT and then mashing light attack until they hit ground, and then I'd just let go of RT and kept hitting X over and over until I won. I think I finished the Griffon fight in under 3-4~ minutes doing that.

The boss fights LOOK rad, but it feels like I'm playing Dynasty Warriors with a bunch of people that do my job for me and won't shut up about it.

I kind of had that problem with the pawns too. Hopefully that's just the demo's fault, but if not I think I'll stick to just one pawn.

The demo basically sold me. It played just like I figured it would, and I really enjoyed the Griffin fight. The Manticore fight was fun too, but it just wasn't as spectacular.

In the demo you can throw your pawns off the cliff and the game gets reasonably harder

So who's going to set themselves on fire and jump on monsters for kicks?

Aren't you significantly boosted from a level standpoint to basically be able to shit on the monsters in the demo anyway?

I've seen very mixed reviews, and most of the negative reviews seemed to nitpick things I don't really care about, or could see past.

This is the part where I'd say "I'll probably rent this", but video stores went extinct so... I guess I'll have to pass on this for now.

I didn't expect this game to get good reviews, in fact I've mostly given up on listening to reviews from anyone other than regular players. I still plan on getting this,

Scores for this were pretty... meh. But what kinda problems it has that I've read or heard about I can probably get over. The pawns talking a whole bunch I know I can get over after having played the demo. It placed itself in the back of my mind and I just heard it as more angry fighting chatter rather than them yelling out suggestions. Some of the other stuff would be kinda more annoying. I know of a section of the game where they send you from one castle to another that's actually a decent ways off, only so that when you get there the people there go "I don't know what the fuck you're talking about. That sounds like a diversion." and then send you back to the castle you just came from. That just sounds tedious for a game that's supposed to have only limited fast travel. Difficulty spikes I can get over. Lacklusted story, well, I'll have to see how lackluster.

Honestly, I didn't really find the gameplay that fun as far as combat and what not. Yeah, it looked cool, but it def. wasn't memorable to me. Just my opninion though.

I wanted to try the demo, but the damn thing kept error messaging during the installation, even after two downloads.

I'm enjoying this game so far, although I'm wishing I picked warrior or something instead of mage. Mage seems like it'll be crazy cool later, but right now, It's just underpowered as hell.
