Default Super Smash Bros.

Once we had a popular thread about this series, then Brawl came out and I hated it.

Played it today, though, and had a lot of fun.

It still sucks.

I would trade Brawl for online Melee any day but that was so awesome. I really did not think we'd been playing -that- long. <_<

I could so get into playing this sorta thing again, though. c:

Whats funny is from almost every aspect, Brawl is a better crafted game than Melee, but it suffers from like 3 problems that make the game kinda stupid.

Tripping is one, probably. I consider Brawl a great game, moreso then Melee (in terms of it being an upgrade: more characters, more stages, new stuff, etc.) but Tripping is just stupid.

Only thing I remember from Brawl was that Ves and Prof always kick my ass in this game.

Random tripping sucks, moves that cause trip state are awesome however.

Brawl doesn't have the same feel as Melee for me because Melee was more lightning-fast and exciting. Brawl's more slow, weighty, and deliberate. Though it could be it just seems slow compared to how fast Melee was.

In terms of replayability, Melee takes it for me, but Brawl has so, so many extra features that I can't pass it up. The gameplay just doesn't hook me as much as it did with Melee.

Banana peeels!

I also like how they changed airdodges so that you keep going in whatever direction you wanted without going into Danger Fall. I actually use it to dodge attacks now, since I don't have to worry about acidentally suiciding while trying to make a safe recovery.

I actually think air dodges are a bit too good. I think there should be a number you can do in a single jump. I like them better than the Melee ones, but spamming air dodge shouldn't be so good. It really cuts down the ability to gimp properly.

Peach's Down Smash was better in Melee. Fucking Brawl.

You should go beat up on Pikachu in revenge. It's clear that he stole the awesome from Peach's down smash and put it into his own.
Friggin' Pikachu; who taught him Thief, anyway?

I wish I could smash the upper left corner of the challenge room, but I couldn't even if I had any hammers left.

I actually like using Pikachu in Brawl, even though I never tried him in Melee. It's probably the Down Smash.

He's a lot different. His game is based around Quick Attack and chain grabbing in Brawl. In Melee his game is based around sucking.

If you DI incorrectly against Peaches down smash in Melee you take like 50%. That makes it a badly designed move.

Spamming quick attack is as retarded as it is effective.

Making quick attack good is outside of my skill range. I can't do all the crazy cancel stuff.

My favorite guy in Brawl is Game and Watch. And frankly, I'm surprised. I used to hate him, but now I love him because of how wacky and ridiculous he is. I love hopping around, smacking people with his sweet aerials, and flipping meats at them. So much fun.

Having a recovery like Peach's but far better also helps, and so does an improved Oil Panic.

By the way, has anyone found any awesome glitches in Brawl, like 64's Instant 999 (with lotsa shells in Training) or Melee's Black Hole?

If you B+Down with Kirby, he'll "free fall" forever on the edges of certain slopes. Try it on the right side of Pictochat.

Wario is easily my favorite character in Brawl. I never could settle on one in Melee, though I was always decent with D.K. if I gave proper effort.

And his Final Smash is probably the second most hilarious.

I really hate Smash Balls. Speedy characters get such an advantage on breaking them.

I don't really like items in general though, which is funny because I play a bunch of glidetossers.

I like smash balls, though I still don't have quite the right strategy to consistently get them. Either I combo the thing early on, and one lucky guy smashes it with one more hit after my combo sends it away, or I wait to long and don't get a single hit in on it.
That's the problem with getting to them first. You usually send them away after softening it up for the slower guys if you don't do it right.

Uhh, smash balls keep independent health bars for each character.

When they break in a single hit it is usually because that person is losing.

They have some sort of complicated algorithm to them.

Bwwaaa? Really? I always though they were like crates and barrels. Huh. Guess they spent more time figuring tweaking them than I thought.

They -are- better. I'd prefer the melee ones, though.

I haven't played this game since October. It's sad, but Brawl didn't grip me as much as Melee did.
