When I finished, I looked at the footage and I had a massive realization. The profiles in OBS work in separate resolutions, so you can set different resolutions over each profile. I had been streaming in a very uniform resolution that was kind of crap.
Look at the difference after I fixed the resolution.
If you want to see me lose track of time for 3 hours and remember how to play Sid Meier's Pirates, the stream is up here.
1. You want to hear me probably butcher every place name on the map.
2. You want to see me drive a sloop like a speedboat.
When I do a proper stream of this, I'll be getting rid of this recording, so if you're going to watch it, watch it now. I've figured out how to play now, at least. It also taught me OBS doesn't record steam overlay.
Parts 1 and 5 have had the audio from the game third party matched (not aggressively though, so that's good), so I'm currently trying to edit that out, but it's taking a while because of youtube's built-in editor.
Future streams will have the music off so as to prevent this in the future.
Edit: Cleaned up versions in the playlist now. You're missing maybe a few seconds of staring at a prompt, and the audio before I unmuted my mic in the first video is all.
1. It's a nice thing to do.
2. It's a skill I haven't flexed since I did it for pay, years ago.
3. I tend to turn 3 words into 1 (sometimes 5 into 1) so it might be necessary to understand what I'm saying.
Slowly putting the 14 La-Mulana stream videos into a playlist here. The requirement for getting into the playlist and the general quick gimmick for these videos was the Streamchat wasn't terribly long, so I've started to put the chat in little annotations that pop up, if you wanted to read those instead of listening to me respond to air. They're a little light in video 1, but really pick up in video 2.
The first 7 are on my channel already, just not in the playlist yet due to the above, if you didn't care about the gimmick but still wanted to watch them.
The first Shin Megami Tensei (SNES) stream is up on the channel, now with added wikipedia links in each video to each creature encountered in the video.
Still working on getting the La-Mulana videos all annotated, but in addition am annotating a complete streamed playthrough of Gunpoint.
...I think I'm kind of pathetic in the Gunpoint playthrough, really. Mostly because I'm going in blind, but my guest knows what's up and he's playing a much more impressive runthrough in the background. I did upload the first video already in an unlisted state, sans annotations. Mostly to make sure the text was legible. Seems that way, but I wouldn't mind some feedback on that.
