Test footage for a possible film leaked a month ago. It was originally made in 2012. No word on whether or not the project even moved past that, but considering nothing has really been heard, I'd assume not? Or maybe there's another project being focused on first.

Either way, Ryan Reynolds is still attached, the test footage is very rough and very CGI (like, entirely), and it was never intended to be seen by a wide audience.

So I indirectly gave you a hobby, but also an addiction.

Also yeah Deadpool is completely flanderized now where he just isn't too interesting anymore, which is definitely a shame.

I'm a big fan of the look on Mario Lopez' face when Ryan is explaining that this is not the same Deadpool as X-Men Origins Wolverine.

I'm wondering how "memey" this will be.

Deadpool in comics form jumped the shark awhile back so hopefully this isn't 80 minutes of memes and 10 minutes of him killing people.

I was thinking the same as I was watching the trailer. I'm kinda hoping it's something along the lines of Joe Kelly's run on Volume 1.

The reason anyone likes/liked him, that he stands out, is his goofiness. Without that, he's just another hyper generic superhero very clearly based on another superhero. You're gonna have to have a balance of the two there. Just... yeah, hopefully is not 90/10%.

I read this and thought 'nahhh'
But then, watching the trailer, the third line is "What if I told you..." and I instantly thought of Morpheus.

He got MORE popular when he became a walking meme factory, but he can be funny just by being weird/quirky and the tortured existence stuff playing off of that gives the character a good amount of depth.

He went through a phase in comics where he was literally quoting lolcats/image macros and it made me quit the comics.

I dropped the comics too but I've actually liked the newest run, even though the first arc is pretty silly.

The flashback stuff being presented like older comics was a pretty nice touch.

I can't imagine it gets that bad in a big budget, Hollywood film, but I guess time will tell.

I think it'll be alright iiiiif, I mean... he's Deadpool, so the sense of humor and awareness of the fourth wall is never going away. But if he ever gets to a point in the film where, you know, he's treating some situations with any kind of gravity, I think it'll be more enjoyable.

The marketing for this movie has been real, real silly.

In my area, Deadpool will be censored. Do you guys advise watching a CENSORED Deadpool film? I'm terrified that I may be let down.

I dunno. I mean, if that's your best option and you really want to see it, then go for it, I guess.
