Yeah, that's what I was thinking. It would go back to the whole event where he disobeyed orders and tried to save his father, which I wouldn't mind at all playing. Maybe we'll actually learn what the hell Adam Fenix's connection with Myrrah is and why the locusts take orders from a human.
Spoiler for Gears of War 3 spoiler:
It would also mean Dom would be back, which makes a prequel seem even more likely.
Down But Not Out Removed - Basically, you get downed you're dead. May still exist in Overrun (I believe I've seen Locust go down to be revived by Kantus) but not in any of the other multiplayer gametypes.
Execution and Warzone Gone - Without being able to crawl around on the ground these gametypes have been removed.
No One and Done Gametype - All the gametypes have respawns. You won't die and have to wait till the next round to play again.
4 Gametypes are Confirmed - And, from what I'm hearing, all that are going to be. Team Deathmatch like from Gears 3, Free For All which is everyone for themselves without the Wingman catch of multi-team, Domination which is a 3 point and hold gametype (think CoD) and finally Overrun which is the Locust vs CoG defend gametype
Active Damage Boost Gone - You'll still reload your weapon faster if you hit the reload right, but you won't get the damage buff that you used to.
Loadouts Exist - Basically you get to choose from a variety of classes before you respawn. This happens in all gametypes and is not limited to Overrun.
That said, Power weapons will still exist on the map.
LOCUST REMOVED FROM MULTIPLAYER - Aside from Overrun the Locust will not be the enemies in the regular game modes. Cog on Cog is what's being reported.
I caved and made room for it and traded in a few lesser played to pick it up.
Went through the campaign (sorta) and played a few rounds of the MP.
Campaign's pretty alright. I liked the characters and story but the flow was sorta cut off since they add up the score for a '3 star' at the end of every sequence. It's minor and you can skip it just something I noted. I suggest doing any of the Declassified objectives you can. They add some unique twists on the gameplay.
MP's faster than Gears. Mainly due to people getting to start with their choice of Grenade. Frags flying mean staying in one place can be bad for your health and lets people push in harder with the nade to back them up. Only played TDM so far and thanks to the loadout system, I can't really decide what weapon I want to start with. Obvious choice is the Gnasher but if you kill someone with a Gnasher you can just pick their's up. Problem is getting the original Gnasher. You wouldn't think it would be hard to just find one to pick up but you only start with 8 bullets in the thing and non-map specific item's bullets auto pick-up. Gnasher, Snub, Lancer, etc.
Probably what is a huge let down for me is that this game is at full retail price and there's only 4 maps for coop game modes and 4 maps for everything else. Plus traditional horde mode seems to be gone. It sounds like to me this is the type of game where they want to make most of the money through DLC. Which is pretty weak.
However the campaign actually sounds good. So maybe I will rent Judgement.
