Iron & Wine and PJ Harvey's new albums are worth getting if you like that sort of thing. Lupe Fiasco's got a new album out early March, but Slice is the only other member I know who likes him.

James Blake's self-titled is really good too.

Nice surprise since I wasn't even aware they were recording again. I like it.
I prefer White Limo, honestly

But whatever, both sound much better than the majority of their last few albums.

I've heard this song a good number of times on the radio now, and I can only even think it's Detachable Penis when it comes on

I like Mashup-Germany too. A few of his mixes are really awesome.

Super Mash Bros is awesome though. I Fucking Bleed Purple and Gold is still one of my favourites.

Also, on the note of girl talk, All Day is okay, in my book. And some of his stuff is not so great. Still nice though.

So, The King of Limbs is good. Really good. It took me a few listens before it really clicked, but wow. I can't wait to see them play this stuff live (even if half the album has been played by the band a few times before).

Also, I'm loving the White Limo video. Dave Grohl really is the fucking man.

Have you heard Kids and Explosions? I don't really know how to describe it but it's sort of like The Avalanches with Girl Talk. Here's a review of the album

This is kind of a "throw shit at the wall" sorta post, but I've been listening to a lot of The Ultimate Warriors lately.

They're a Powerviolence band from eastern Pennsylvania, and (unsurprisingly) all their music is wrestling-based. It's a lot of screaming, growling, fast guitars, and rarely do any of the songs run over 60 seconds in length.

I am in love with this band forever and ever. They only ever put their stuff out on vinyl, and as such it's super hard to find physical copies of it. Luckily, a friend of mine (the one who turned me on to the band) has most of their stuff, and was able to find a lot of their stuff ripped online so that I would be able to experience it.

It's all amazing, just in how balls-out chaotic it all is. Plus, they insert a lot of sampled clips from early 90's japanese wrestling tapes. Shit, my username is in part a reference to one of their songs. ("Bring the Danger" which plays a clip referencing "THE DANGER MAN" of japanese wrestling)

DOWNLOADS! (On mediafire)
http://toxicmolar.blogspot.com/2009/...ng-is-our.html
http://toxicmolar.blogspot.com/2009/...ors-split.html

Those are two of their releases: "Our Gimmick is Wrestling" their only full-length, and a split they did with fellow Powerviolence band Kungfu Rick. The split with Kungfu Rick is no joke, my favorite album of all time. Their part of the split only adds up to just under six minutes, but it's an amazing six minutes I'll never get sick of.

I'm not expecting anyone to find it as amazing as I do, as they're a really REALLY polarizing band, but I thought I'd share at least a little. Sadly, they've been broken up since the early 2000's, but they're one of those bands where there's always rumors of a reunion show. (Oh god, I hope so.)

Bonus: Video from a show in Baltimore in early 2000:

Anyone here listen to The Mars Volta or MF DOOM? I've taken a big liking for both in the last month or so.

Recently I have been into Of Montreal and Erykah Badu as of late.

@Devilman: I would like to get into Mars Volta. Do you have any album suggestions for my first listen?

I've been listening to a lot of Bayside because they're new album just came out a few days ago and I'm in love with it.

De-loused In The Comatorium is pretty much considered to be their best work, so you might want to try that.

Of Montreal is really good.

As far as The Mars Volta, I'd say that Deloused in the Comatorium and Amputechture are like... Long songs of just, instrumental wankery and on and off vocals...

Frances the Mute and Bedlam in Goliath are frantic vocal heavy and exciting albums. I prefer the latter albums, but all four have solid songs. I've yet to get Octahedron.

Lupe Fiasco's new album is pretty disappointing. It's not all bad, but it's just a bit too commercial now.

Does It Offend You, Yeah?'s new album is great. Maybe not as good as You Have No Idea..., but it's still a good listen.

This is how The Flaming Lips are releasing their next EP. This is why they're amazing.

Fuck, I want a gummi skull.
I was pretty disappointed with Embryonic though, so I'm not expecting something that'll tickle my fancy with this EP.

New Antlers album out May 10th - Called Burst Apart

I am excite. Although I highly doubt it will top Hospice. They're playing it on the radio on March 19th so I'm thinking there'll be a pretty early leak.

Website for the mashup lovers, or anyone who wants to get into them.

I recommend Milkman, Super Mash Bros, Girl Talk, Team Teamwork and The Hood Internet. I need to work my way down this list more.

Add Justice to the list of albums I'm excited about this year.

They announced a new one's coming out in April. About time.

So my friends all love Lupe and they have finally bugged me into listening to him. So I am. Haven't gotten to Lasers though. Gotten through Fahrenheit 1/15, Enemy of the State and almost all of Fahrenheit 1/15 Part II: Revenge of the Nerds. Probably jump back to The Cool before I go to Farhenheit 1/15 Part III. Haven't decided yet.

These people getting me into the hip hops and the raps.

Childish Gambino's stuff is awesome by the way and everyone should really give him a listen because Donald Glover's the shiiiiiiiiiiiiiit.

Just listened to The Strokes - Angles for the first time. It's good; not great but it's a decent listen. I'd probably call it their worst as a whole, but that doesn't mean it's bad, just not as good as the others.

This is an old one (1998), but I just got (most) of XO by Elliott Smith for the first time and I'm really enjoying it. I really need to buy the last 2 tracks when I can. 3-7 and 10-11 are probably my favorites. I think this album trumps Figure 8, which was my previous favorite of his.
