Geeze I missed a lot. First, glad you're safe and still posting Mallorie.

Second, I'm glad your speech went well! And a 95 too, that's awesome!

Third, Emperor Palpatine totally popped into my head.

Thank you!

We're back home, and my dad got on some anti-depressants, but he still drinks a lot, so.

Nothing bad has happened so far.

Anti-depressants and copious amounts of alcohol sounds like a bad combo. Did the doc warn him about that?

More than likely. And I'm certain the label says it, too.

Far be it from him to listen, though. I've politely brought that point up, but he chooses to ignore me. I don't press the issue.

I have had an amazing couple of weeks.

I got a 98 on my informative speech, passed an art appreciation test with flying colors, made a 30 on my ACT and got crowned Homecoming Queen.

I'm on cloud nine.

I still don't know what I want to do, but I'm sending my applications into the University of Texas, Texas Tech, University of North Texas and Sam Houston this week, hopefully.

At least the University of Texas and Texas Tech, because I think their due dates are sooner.

^ I've learned how to spell that word since I've been gone. My computer has been utterly busted this whole time. Using my dad's.

I also just got back from Austin cheering at the 1A basketball state championship. Our girls won.

And I've been dating someone for the past two months.

Was wondering how you were doing. Welcome back. Congrats on the win. And congrats on the other win -- knew it was going to happen.

UT-Austin intimidates me. I considered it, but I'm glad I chose A&M.

I am so sore.

Last night I participated in our school's Donkey Basketball Game. Playing basketball is difficult anyway, but being on a donkey makes it near impossible. During the first half, my donkey was real sweet, but didn't move very fast. The donkey I got in the second half was the complete opposite: he had a mean streak a mile wide and he was fast. He took off and I spent an awful lot of my time being dragged around the court/chasing my donkey down.

I couldn't even mount him; every time I tried he bucked. Almost got kicked in the face once. I also hit the floor pretty hard a couple times. Luckily I had my baseball helmet on tight. My knees are bruised pretty bad from falling down so much, though. Haha. I definitely did more falling than playing.

Glad I did it, though. I had a lot of fun and a whole bunch of my family and friends came out to see me. When I get the chance I'm going to post some pictures of the game. Maybe there are some of that stupid donkey dragging me around. Haha.

It did sound crazy when you told me about it. My worry is that there have been kids who've gotten their heads kicked in by donkeys. That said, glad you had fun with it. Ice up those knees.

There are a few precautions taken. Like I mentioned, we all have to wear batting helmets, and you're only allowed to play after you've listened to the trainer explain the safety rules. Like, don't sit on the donkey's rear end, or stand behind it, or pull their ears, etc.

Some of the donkeys are bred to be gentle, and others to buck, and the guy hands out donkeys according to who he thinks can handle them.

Other than that though, you're on your own. It is pretty dangerous, but thankfully none of us got too hurt (one guy turned his ankle) and I think we raised quite a bit of money for our class. And I got to ride a donkey. It was very fun.

Edit: Ves is correct. We did have to sign waivers for this.

Assketball seems like something out of a Dr. Seuss book, which makes me second this motion.

That is an amazing name for it. All these years doing it and no one's thought of it.

Haha, Nami my school is pretty backwoods. Some of my friends from other schools have never heard of this and teased me even more for being a hick. Entertains them, though.

I remember we did that during elementary school. I think we might have done something like that again in either middle school or high school, but I don't remember.

You don't quite remember whether or not your school hosted a basketball game where people ride donkeys?
