Wanting to know how many people would be up for the idea.

I've talked to Krud, Ethan and a few others about it. I've heard people interested in having a server again for TF2-ings, but I'm wondering how much use it would get.

We're leaning toward an 18 slot server for now. Not sure if it'll be public or private, since cost is an issue, but if making it public meant it got use and we could occasionally password protect it for group events and the like, then it'd be worth it.

Krud also likes the idea of occasionally doing events where there'd be one of every class per team some days. S'why we thought about 18 slots.

In any case, who likes the idea? Who wants a new server for the forums and would use it? And if so, would you prefer public or private? Or, if'n you have another idear, vote other and come out with it. Anything you want.

Hey, Ethan, you know what else is brown? Crap.

About the only thing that could stop me from playing on a server with people I like is my internet. So I'm up for a private server.

So how would it be payed for this time?

I'd be paying for it. Donations would be goddamn swell, but we were talking about it and I decided, hey, I can probably take the hit so long as it doesn't go over $20 a month.

Well, it does, but it's only $22, so it's not that bad. Yeah, I'd be paying for it for the time being. And Ethan would be admining it. Maybe Krud. I dunno who else. We were sitting there trying to come up with server events.

So it's just a matter of enough people saying yes, and then you'd put it up?

Making it public I think is the best way to go about it, so we can pull bigger games when our ranks don't feel like playing, but if enough people want to play within fanboys, that's fine too.

I think having a server is awesome, I just feel bad when I become a fickle bitch and don't want to play the game for a month.

Pretty much. I can actually go pay for it right now. I just don't want to throw money at something I'm not sure people will use. So I'm asking here. I don't figure every vote will transfer to actual use from everyone who votes, but it still gives me an idea.

Also, Krud and I were talking about ideas for events and such. He'd love to do that WarioWare map at least once. Maybe reoccuring. Who knows. And I suggested an "All BBQQ Day", a day where (should we be able to set it up) we make it so everyone can only use Pyro with Backburner and we kill people. Like Ethan.

Also, silly little mods like the Scout goomba stomp. That has to be in there. Has to.

The regular events thing sounds fun, plus it'd help the server get used more often.

And having the goomba stomp mod would be awesome.

I also like the Quake III: Arena sounds. Ethan doesn't seem to. I would like them in there, but they're not super important. The goomba stomp for sure, though.

And I actually suggested a "There Can Only Be One" day with just Eyelanders to them.

Maybe it's a good idea to vote on what people want for custom maps, mods and events. Or at least throw shit around.

Also deciding on the rules of the server too I guess? That seems pretty easy, though.

That's kinda what I meant, but better said. I guess.

Heavy boxing matches would be pretty fun. In general, melee fights usually are. This isn't really a mod, but I loveeeeee sudden death scout/heavy melee only. Outside of Scout goomba jump, there isn't much I want for mods. Maybe that engineers drop full ammo and the medics drop health thing when they die.

Aerospace is one of my favorite custom maps, and it would be cool to finally have a place to play it regularly.

I would totally play on the server, though my internet is kinda butts at the moment.

I'm used to 32-player all-out fragfests, so it'll be nice to have less people in the way for me to Master Chief- I mean for me and a few people to coordinate attacks/defense.

Public is good. I also agree on WarioWare. Don't know what goomba stomp mod is but it sure sounds awesome. Quake sounds... Eh, don't really care either way.

Also, if the server really kicks off, maybe some reserved slots for FF people. What's going to be the ruling as far as alltalk? It can be fun a lot, but when srs bsns (aka all of TF2) kicks in, it can get really annoying. Off until we're having a "fun night" or something to that effect?

Obviously I should overthrow Ethan if he's made an admin and become admin instead, leading to a glorious new golden age, but that is actually but a ruse and some much more malevolent and dark stuff is happening in the background.

Also I could probably record a lot of silly stuff we do, I was doing that last summer for a while. I have like, unbelievable amounts of demo files I never made videos of that don't work anymore.

EDIT: I have but one request: Whenever someone sets up the MoTD on the server, I beg of you, please, put this in the first line for all people who join our server to see:

All talk should be on because if more than 9 members join a game, It'd be retarded that we can't talk to one another. Just use the team chat if you really need to coordinate and don't want people listening in.

Warioware sounds like a lot of stupid fun.

Goomba stomp is jumping on someone's head to kill them. It's a pretty silly thing.

We're all friends or at least have found ways to co-exist with one another, and the server is for all of us, so I don't see why all 18 slots shouldn't be able to talk with one another. Hell, we do it on 360 that way. I'd leave it on, personally.

Yes, please. Public, 18 slots, All-Chat on.

I'd actually be willing to donate for this. Like $5-$10 a month if we can keep it up.

Sounding a lot like I'm gonna do this. Gonna talk to Ethan again today and see what I can get set up and when.

Might pay from a PayPal account if they allow it and if people really want to help donate for it.

I get it even with people I know, Mainly because those people are lost within the other 32 players on there and drowned out by bad music.

I'd prefer it to be public most of the time, but do private for event's like what's already been suggested.

Don't worry, I generally feel very much the same. Not too fond of playing with 31 other people in a linen closet while 'The Final Countdown' destroys my speakers. I think if we got any higher than 18, it'd be 24 and that would be the cutoff. I'm not going any higher than 18 out of my own pocket, though.

And man. We'd have to have one rule. No griefing. And mic spamming music would be considered griefing.
