Real, real slow start. I stopped again and went to find something else to watch like three episodes in. It can't keep my attention.

Why does that sound... OH! Kodansha has been putting it out on Comixology. I logged it at some point. 5/7 volumes up last I logged it.

Two questions I wanted to ask.

Which of the Magica Madoka movies should I watch, now that I've finished the anime? I heard a lot of what's in them is just recapping the show, and wanna know what is actually new stuff.

Also, of all the anime I've got listed in my journal thread here, which ones have good dubbings? I heard Cowboy Bebop has a good dub, but thats all I know.

EDIT:

I'll just edit in that list here now that I'm home and at my computer.

The third one. From what I know, the first two movies are just one giant flashback with fancier art/backgrounds, no Meduka Meguca, and a new hair clip for Sayaka. The third one is the actual sequel.

And it is a downer let me tell you

EDIT: Azumanga's dub isn't bad.

Well shit, I should've watch them instead then.

Being Meguca is suffering.

Another question, last one for now, I'm looking for an anime that is a romance, but rather than it be about the slow build up to confession time, I'm looking more for something where they're together already and are just doing cute or sweet things with each other.

Less "will they or won't they" and more "they did, now watch the cuteness/drama/comedy that comes with it"

Or alternatively an Anime that does both, by having the long build up, but not ending once they've actually gotten together.

Marmalade Boy does this. Dunno if it's exactly what you're looking for, though, because there's a lot of...the universe / other people trying their darndest to break up the main couple. As soon as one problem ends, another begins.

Tenshi Nanka Ja Nai is similar, but I don't know off the top of my head if it was ever made into an anime. Kodocha was, but from what I know, the anime had a lot of filler. I got about 25 episodes in before giving up.

Fair warning: all of the above are super 90's and super shoujo.

SuperGALS! does a little bit of this, but romance isn't the main focus most of the time. Still super shoujo, but not 90's.

I refuse to believe the protag of GL has his name pronounced like that. Refusal.

I'll keep all those in mind, right now I'm just going through all the short, single season Anime, and at some point soon Cowboy Bebop. Half way through Angel Beats right now, which so far is pretty great, one of my favorites so far.

Thanks for all the suggestions and info.

Cowboy Bebop is generally hailed as one of the best, if not the best anime dub ever. I don't know that I'd go that far, but it's very well done.

Spice & Wolf's dub is also very well done. It's so well done that, when I finished season one dubbed, I just waited for season two to also be dubbed before watching it.

Haruhi Suzumiya and Azumanga Daioh have adequate dubs. They're not bad at all, but they're not the best you'll find, either. Same with Lucky Star.

Neon Genesis Evangelion was an anime milestone for me. It was the first time a dub was so fucking awful that I chose to watch an anime in Japanese instead.

Also, Golden Time is a romcom from the author of Toradora where the main characters get together a few episodes in and the drama comes in elsewhere.

I want to say Kimi ni Todoke doesn't drag its feet too long on that, either, but it's been a while.

I'll give Golden Time a try next then, of the Anime I've watched so far Toradora is one of my favorites, and I'm still in a RomCom mood right now.

Actually, might as well give a little mini-review of all the anime if watched so far, in case anyone's curious. More or less in the order that I enjoyed them in so far.

Toradora - Very sweet, last parts of the second season were pulling at my heart strings constantly, really want more.
Angel Beats - Was lost a few times with the plot, but still enjoyed it a lot and it had some very moving moments. Also LOVE the opening theme song.
Ika Musume - Funny and cute, not much else to say, but I really enjoyed the show.
Madoka Magica - Art was subpar a lot of the time (should've watched the movie versions I guess), but the story was interesting and for the first time in awhile I was surprised by many of the twists and such.
Watamote - Really funny, and distressingly relatable. Might read the Manga at some point, one season definitely wasn't enough for me.
Himouto! Umura-Chan - Didn't love it as much as the other comedies, but still made me laugh a few times.
Working!! - Pretty good, was expecting something different though, now as many work related antics I guess.
Spice and Wolf - Interesting show, a bit boring at times, but still more or less enjoyed it.

I thought this too, and then I saw the super-shitty (not for the reasons you would think) adaptation of Angel Sanctuary and Evangelion seemed well within tolerance.

That's cool. If someone hasn't read the original and is interested, Dark Horse has the series in 4 omnibus volumes on the Comixology site.

Digital pricing tends to be a little cheaper, sometimes. It depends on the publisher.

I wanted to watch the Ghost in the Shell stuff, but there's a lot of it, and I'm finding a lot of different answers on what I should watch and in what order.

Anyone got any insight?

Watch the movie, watch the second movie, watch SAC. Avoid the manga (Masamune Shirow may be prolific, but he's an aimless writer).

On the one hand, it sounds good. On the other hand, a lot of CLAMP's projects have just been left to die unfinished. I'm not too optimistic that they'll actually complete the sequel.

Wow, it looks so retro! If I didn't know any better, I'd say it came straight out of the '90s!

-I didn't think the Sakamoto anime could get any better, and then they threw in Der Erlkoenig. COOLEST is still the best OP.

-Dogma and I have watched a bit of Joker Game. S' pretty good.

-The Nisekoi manga, nearing the end, is about one ill-chosen love confession away from going on my eternal shitlist, right next to...what was it...Psychic Academy or some crap. I can't remember the last time I actually got angry at a manga, but somehow Nisekoi pulled it off. And it doesn't even have to do with shipping (the only pair I can really say I "shipped" was unrelated to the main love dodecahedron) so much as common freaking sense. Hapless protagonist all but confirmed for masochist.

-Kuragehime is also nearing the end and feeling a bit rushed, but unlike Nisekoi, the main character has enough brainpower to not rush into a decision that she might regret.
