Wow, I might have to go with a Grass starter for the first time in my life. Rowlet is too cute!

So Unova was based on the continental US, and Kalos on France. Is Alola based on the Pacific islands? Maybe Hawaii specifically? It kind of looks that way.

Rowlet is the only starter I really like at first glance, it's a shame since Grass/Flying is a pretty terrible typing

I'm a bit conflicted on Popplio. I like it as a character, but not so much as a Pokemon. Like... it seems to have enough individuality that the idea of there being an entire species of creatures that look exactly like it is weird.

The one that got this the worst was last generation's Klefki, though. You mean to tell me that there's an entire species of key-collecting monsters, and they've all collected the same four keys?

Anyway, not sure which starter I'm going with yet, they're all okay. Depends on their evolutions at this point.

Hopefully your Pokedex's "Rotom" entry is filled out by default.

I was really disappointed that they always had the same four keys. Spinda is some weird unremarkable panda and they added a whole system for the randomness of their spots, why not swap out 4-6 key models or something?!?!

also 2 more pokemon have been revealed CoroCoro has held true to its promise and has revealed two brand new Pokemon that are set to star in Pokemon Sun & Moon. Serebii reports that the first Pokemon is Nekkoala, who is the Half Awake Pokemon. It has the ability Definite Sleep that prevents it from being afflicted with any status that isn’t sleep. Nekkoala is a Normal-type Pokemon. We have kinda seen the second Pokemon before in the Sun & Moon trailer. The dog/deer Pokemon Iwanko is a Rock-type Pokemon.He’s a Puppy Pokemon and will either have the Keen Eye, which prevents its accuracy from being reduced, or Vital Spirit which prevents sleep.

I was recently thinking about how Pokemon's art style has changed over the years... it's kinda gotten pointier and less... organic-looking? And Vulpix and Sandshrew are two specific pokemon that I was thinking have a very different style than most newer monsters. So it's a funny coincidence to see both of them get revisited.

Interestingly, I thought the icy Vulpix and Sandshrew lines looked better in-game than in their official art. I think they should go back to the nice watercolor pictures for the official artwork.

The internet seems to be loving the new Exeggutor. Lately I've been messing around with Red/Blue romhacking and I was considering replacing Exeggcute and Exeggutor with 2nd-gen monsters, but now it might become too popular for that to be an acceptable idea.

I don't understand icy Vulpix and Sandshrew, but, whatever. The game gave us the glory that is Alola Exeggutor so I'm not going to think about it too much.

The only problem I have with Alola Exeggutor is the lips on that tail-egg.

Ice Sandshrew and Vulpix are probz because one of the islands has a huge mountain on it, which is a subsequently snowy climate, and due to the isolation of the islands, evolution and adaptation over time, etc...

they even reference the birds Darwin studied in the Galapagos. It's awesome:

THIS GEN IS TURNING OUT TO BE SO FUCKING GOOD??!??! ;w;
