Rumors abound

http://kotaku.com/5479388/is-valve-b...eam-to-the-mac

It'd be pretty cool if Valve actually does this.

that sounds kind of weird, seeing as Gabe is a huge fan of Microsoft.
but sure, makes sense. There are games like civ 4 that have mac osx versions.

although, at the same time, apple kind of has a monopoly on online stores for apple products. I seriously doubt there are very many mac users who would be very interested in using something like steam.

I hope it doesn't happen, but that's purely out of my hatred for all things Apple. So.

not to mention the fact that it doesn't make sense.
What are you gonna do? Search the app store for an app that lets you buy other apps? That doesn't make sense.

Other "apps" that may or may not even be compatible with your Mac.

Looking at some of the people at my school who own Macs I can guarantee not a single one of them will pay any attention to this whatsoever. It's pretty pointless.

While I was futzing with my computer (with my bf helping) he kept telling me "THIS WOULDN'T HAPPEN IF YOU GOT A MAC. MACS MACS MACS APPLE IS GOD"

I thought about it, though I have a ton of money poured into Steam over 6 years. Did a little research and I think it's actually possible to get steam to run on Mac but didn't care enough about looking further into it cause I probably will never have a Mac.

The last time he'll play it will be tomorrow, so... Either he gets rid of the game or he dies! D:

Okay made a thread here given how valve loves to screw around with our heads. Images have been found in some of the game files.

I, too, am excited.

But then I doubt it'll be anything that great. It'll be severely cut.

I think most people who want Valve's games have either got bootcamp or another PC for it by now anyway.

You know, it's funny, I was waiting for a reply and I was gonna come back and say exactly that. People who have faggot Macs and like these games have already played them for years anyway, either on their PC or their Mac with Windows. I imagine it's just the die hard Mac fanatics who refuse to even touch a Windows-equipped PC, let alone use Boot Camp to load it up on their systems, as the only ones wetting their already moist pants over this.

And not even for the games themselves, but just because it's another percieved blow to the PC platform. 'Cause that's how fanboys are.

If they really wanted to play those they could've just played the gimped PS3 version if they hate Microsoft so much.

Yeah, but doesn't computer gamer elitism still extend to Mac users? And if not, doesn't Mac user elitism make up for any lack thereof?

I tried the new Steam beta and I'm not entirely excited about it. Sure, it looks flashier, but for some reason the store and community pages didn't load for me, so I reverted to the original design.

Oh, and I had no idea there was a Steam group for this forum. I remember playing TF2 with some of you people on the Xbox 360 when my PC was so bad that it couldn't play anything. Those were good days...
