Default Smythe and the Bingo Knights

Man, fuck thinking of a new title. I like this one anyway.

Soooo, I never started a new journal, thought now was as good a time as any.

Well, the past few months have been kinda bleehhh. I decided to drop out of uni for a few reasons. Firstly, I couldn't get motivated to do any work. Secondly, I was fucking miserable. I made one good friend, but him aside, everybody else I met was a total shit. Sure there were some ok people around but I didn't want to hang out with them or anything.
Actually, the whole uni thing is the main reason I've been feeling shitty about things. It made me realise that I am 20 now, I have responsibilities, more so now I'm no longer a student. We have to pay more council tax and my mum gets less benefits so there's mad pressure for me to get a job.
I need and want a job, but I REALLY don't want to work in telesales which is all I seem to be able to find. I've worked in bars and a tattoo parlour, so my experience of work has been kinda laid back. I've got a telephone interview with somebody at coca-cola soon. My mum's friend works there and she's kinda set it up for me. Sounds like a boring ass job, but at least it's good pay and pretty stable, I should be more grateful. Oh well.

The other thing that is bothering me is my mother's boyfriend (well, oldmanfriend). Man's racist as fuck. It really gets to me, but my mum just passes it off as him being old fashioned. Bullshit. Fucker is racist. Today we were watching the news and it was a feature about children being abused by foreign tourists in Kenya. He starts spouting all this bullshit like "Well where are the parents?!" and "well them reporters are just as bad, bet they paid 'em to come talk t' the camera". OH FUCKING REALLY, THE FUCKING REPORTERS TALKING TO THE PARENTS OF RAPED CHILDREN ARE JUST AS FUCKING BAD AS PAEDOPHILES?? God damn. I don't know how to cope with his shit. I need to not get kicked out of this house while I'm still relying on job seekers allowance, but I can't keep quiet. It is intolerable. It's not just his racism either, although that is the main issue, he talks with his mouth full of food, gives running commentaries on ANYTHING that is on TV, touches my stuff (I've forgotten how many of my cd's and dvd's he's taken) and he has some creepy feet and doesn't wear socks. Ach, he also wears limited edition G-Unit Reeboks. Wish I knew what to do.

Oh and my best friend left for uni in london and I miss her a lot. That's got me down too.

Boohoo. What a fgt.

Vidya games: I miss them. I got The Beatles: Rock Band a few days back. It's super pretty. Still not into the music but it's fun. There are a few tracks I'm really into playing even though I don't really like them at all.
Aside from TB: RB I haven't played much new stuff aside from Scribblenauts and Henry Hatsworth, so, I have kinda played more new stuff then I usually would. Woops. Scribblenauts and Henry Hatsworth are both amazing anyway.

Music, I still like music. Music is good. I've started making ambient industrial, woo. I'm using an old ass 1970's cassette recorder which is kind of a problem. The recorder is amazing, it makes everything sound dirty as fuck and I can transfer stuff to my laptop with this cassette deck thing, but I'm running out of working cassettes. They keep wrecking themselves. Eep. Probably going to start posting some stuff when I'm more confident with it.

Been listening to Andrew Bird a lot recently. Generally I don't like indie-folk or anything with whistling, but his stuff is really great. Also went through a 90's punk thing for a week. That was good. Listened to so much Jawbreaker.

I'll probably use this thing to rant about albums and stuff as well as whine about my silly life.

Every Time I Die is from Buffalo.

And this song is better than most of what I've heard from them.

This song is called L'Astronaut if you hadn't already found out. But yeah, it's pretty different to most of their shit. I just like 'em cause they're shouty and trashy.

I've been looking up several of their songs, and I like what I'm hearing. I guess I just blanketed them under Metalcore since they have had a tendency to tour with shitty metalcore bands.

Yeeah, they played the Warped Tour and stuff. Gerard Way does some guest vocals on one track on Gutter Phenomenon which is kinda bizarre and one with Pete Wentz is on the new album New Junk Aesthetic. They don't make it hard to associate them with cack. I think they're touring with Killswitch and In Flames around europe. Fuckin' In Flames man. God damn "waahhhh they got shit waahhh" fuck that. They always sucked. Fer real.

ETID's new album is great, probably better then anything since Hot Damn! I dunno, since I like all of their albums plenty.

My mum's boyfriend has taken more of my CDs. I'm not sure how many yet, my mum just said "some". Fuck this shit.
Eeeehhhhhhhh.

Super bored. Got another job lined up, interview soon. Still haven't heard from coca-cola which is a shame.

Any UK fanboys wanna buy a squier affinity p-bass? 50 to you guys (probably be around 15-20 to post it). If anyone is interested or knows somebody that might be, let me know. It'll be sent in a padded gig bag. They go for 130-50 new (as far as I can remember anyway). It's got a couple of chips in the finish, that aside, it's in great condition.
I'm also selling a 15 watt Trace Elliot bass amp. That thing is fucking awesome, and I'm going to miss it, but I need the money and space. I don't know how much that's going for yet, but again if anyone is interested let me know and we can work something out. I'm just gunna put them on eBay soon so I thought I might as well mention them here.

Oh shit yeah, I also have this weird SG style guitar, it's got a bigsby style tremolo and it's a bit grimy. Also the tuning is a bit unstable (oh shit really, an unbranded guitar with a bigsby has unstable tuning, omg). That's going for 50, too. It does actually sound really nice, but it needs a bit of work. If you wanna see the guitars or whatever I'll get some pictures sorted out and junk.

Peace.

Hurrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.
I am still unemployed and still very very bored all the time. Sleeping around 2 hours a day if I'm lucky and the doctors have put me on new pain meds for my knee. I guess thems is connected. I dunno. I do know it sucks though. Hoping to get a cane soon. Probably been watching too much house recently.

Stretching my ear lobe some more right now. I always forget the way it hurts. It's not intolerable, but it is really annoying. Think I've probably gone past the point where I could have let it shrink back. Oh well.

Still haven't sold those guitars. Totally forgot about selling them until I came back in here to be honest. Hurf.

So, today has been the best day.
First I got to pick up my cane! Woo.
Second, I had a job interview which meant I got to wear my new suit. NEW SUIT AND CANE, shit yes.

The interview was rad. They made us play with LEGO.
LEGO.

LEGOOOOOO.

Basically, it was a big group assessment, we were divided into smaller groups. Introduced ourselves and shit. Then we had to look at this lego house then rebuild it from memory. The group basically sat there and watched as I rebuilt the house and added on an extension (I didn't have enough bricks to make a race car ). It was pretty amazing. then we had to do some boring stuff. but LEGO. Oh man, it was awesome.

Oh man, I totally should have made a lego cane.
But this one is pretty rad. It's got a really nice bone handle, dunno what kind of bone though... And the stick is finished with this really shiny black lacquer. I'll try to get some super exciting cane walking action shots, failing that, I'll just take some pictures of the cane.

I have some pictures of me and the cane. Gunna post dem up soon.

Whelp. I got a job today. 30hrs a week, 6.12 an hour. It's a temp contract but there's a pretty good chance of it going permanent. I'm getting hidden away in a warehouse (because I have a stretched piercing, clearly this is offensive to middle england. Har har.). I'm pretty happy with that to be honest, I don't have to cope with idiot customers.

I have lots of ranting to be done. Ugh. Can't be arsed with typing it all out. Oh well.

My friend is back for a couple days on friday, excited to see her, it's been like 2 months now.

Bonfire tomorroooooow. Baked potatoes, whiskey, cigars and explosions. Best day of the year.

That is all.

Wait -- the bonfire thing isn't a spontaneous event; the U.K. actually sanctions these things? Awesome.

We had the worst cigars last night. My mouth still tastes like burnt ass. The whiskey was really very nice though. It's from a really small distillery on a scottish island and it had this really great smokey character.
The explosions sucked 'cause of the rain but the fire was good. We burnt a couch and loads of other crap we needed to get rid of.

Mega, I might come and hassle you in feb. I'm visiting a friend that lives in some crazy place in the north wales, Rhyl, I think, but hopefully it wont be Rhyl. That place is shitty. His mother lives further down so maybe we'll go there.

Oh and has anybody seen my birth certificate? No? Curses.

Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeell. Seeing as I'm back, I guess it's time to update this thing.
Yep.

I had a job for 8 weeks which was weird. Technically I was a customer assistant, trained to work on tills and shit, but I was in the warehouse.
I worked some shitty hours and for most of the day I stood around and did nothing.
Saturday shifts started at 5.30 am and work got going pretty quick, 2 huge fuckin trucks full of food that needed to be taken out, put into a giant fridge then sorted and taken down to the food department. That usually went on from 6 till 8.30 and was pretty relentless work. After sorting the delivery I had to sort out all the rubbish, separating cardboard and shit basically. That was ok, I got to play with a big crushing machine. After that was done at about 10-ish I stood around until 2 or something. I did get away with a few extra breaks on that shift though.
Sundays were horrible. 6.30 till 5.30. I got a lot of breaks but ffffuuuuuck it was tiring. It started out the same as saturday shift, but between 10 and 4 there was nothing to do. Once 4 finally rolled around we got a huge delivery of clothes that need taking out of the lorry and sorting.

The rest of the days I worked were just 12.30 till 8.45 shifts that just involved sorting rubbish, standing around a lot then doing the evening delivery. Boooorrrrrrrrrrrrring. Pay was good though. Came to about 200 a week.

Soo, if you read through all of that, I'm sorry there was no funny story (i'm not actually sorry).

UK fanboys. Don't work for marks and spencers. They take advantage and have no union to complain to about the shitty way they treat you. Derp.

I got free safety boots though. So. That's something.

I haven't really done much since the last time I was here.

Went to a Mastodon gig last month which blew my mind. Still probably me favorite band and definitely the best I've ever seen live.

Hrrmm. Finally sold that bass I mentioned earlier in the thread. nertnert. I'm not using the cane anymore unless I just feel like it. My knees don't hurt so bad at the moment anyway.

Muuuuuuuuuuusic. Go check out Holy Roar's website for what I'm listening to mostly.

Filmssssssssssssssssssss. Avatar was a waste of my time. Alice in Wonderland was crap. I can't remember the last good new film I saw.

Gamesssssssssssssssssss. Are too expensive.

Myyyyyyyyyyyyy testicles really hurt right now.

I saw the doctor about my achey bollocks, well, bollock. It's just the right one.
He said everything felt normal, no lumps or shit like that, but it is bigger then the left one! Nice. So, he's sending me to a specialist to find out if I have an infection or something. It's possible that I just have an achey nut. Which would suck.

Enough about my testicle.

Actually, I don't have much else to say.

Derp.

I don't have any infections, just, bollock ache. oh nooo. They gave me codeine though, so it's not too bad.

Applied for a job at an estate agents. They had an ad for trainee sales negotiators so I thought "fuck it, I can probably do that". No idea if I'll get a response, but here's hoping. Also applied to some company that do debt management and shit. I think it'd just be data entry, but it's better then nothing. Certainly better then working in a warehouse anyway.

Oh and you can find me on twatter now if you're interested. I don't use it for anything other than following various webcomic artists and celebrities, but maybe I'll start using it, WHO KNOWS.
Anyway, SmytheIsDead is me on twatter. Yep.

Hahaaa, "twatter" what a funny joke. Hahaaaa
