As long as they let Marvel exist as their own entity, I can't really be angry about this.

People on Gaia are bawwwing up a storm about this.

They're afraid of Kingdom Hearts and what that could mean for this.

I'd fucking buy that.

Also Disney owns ABC so that means Wolverine is gonna be on LOST. Logically.

Yeah, yeah it does. I had been wondering about that.

As long as they don't try and tone down anything that is associated with the characters, I can't really be too upset either. But since they're playing all the older, darker series, I guess they won't fuck it up. I mean shit, I saw the episode where the X-men were fucking enslaved and Storm is having a freak-out from being locked in a porta-potty sized box. And everyone thinks Gambit betrayed their rebellion.

Well just cause Disney owns it, doesn't mean they'll do horrible cross-overs left and right.

Yes, I'm with Naf on this. I may hate Disney, and I may hate Marvel, but... wait... Let me start again.

Wasn't Marvel associated with the Muppets a long while back?

One of the comments in the article mentioned something I didn't even think about: There's a huge section in one of the Universal parks that could basically be called "Marvel-Land", what's going to happen to that?

Otherwise, as long as Disney doesn't try to interfere with Marvel's work, everything should be fine. Maybe I'm being naive here, but I think that most that's going to come out of this any time soon are new Marvel shows on Disney's channels and maybe a comic here and there with Disney's characters in order to promote some project they have in the works.

And the giant floating frozen head of Walt Disney as the narrator of all Marvel's comics... which I don't believe will happen, but the mental image made me laugh.

I can see a few Disney-based comics coming out of Marvel and probably some cartoons aimed for younger and older markets. Disney's been going to for teenagers for a while now, having Marvel at their disposal will help.

At the same time I think Disney is business savvy enough to not go full retard. They didn't fuck a lot of people over in Anaheim over having a place to live based off luck. Cause I hate Disney, so I want to rage. I hate Disney with a passion, but fuck, I don't think they'll completely screw over Marvel, they'd lose more money than they'd make.

Yeah, I actually think Joe Quesada has hurt Marvel much more than Disney is going to do.

Disney isn't a cartoon studio, they are a major conglomerate.

If anything you'll see different distribution channels, and most importantly you probably won't see Marvel looking for outside help with their movies anymore because of the amount of things Disney owns.

0 Impact on Kingdom Hearts people. Disney owns a whole lot of shit that hasn't wound up in those games.

Edit:
The fanart that comes out of it will be hilarious though.

I know they're not a cartoon studio, they do own stations though. They'll probably push for more Marvel based cartoons to put on those stations. It's the same thing with Cartoon Network and Nick, for the past few years Disney has been trying to gain an older audience interest. I can see them pooling in a little more cartoons for those stations. Specially since that would interest teenage boys more likely. Even though they already have a shitton of comic based cartoons on their Toon Disney or Disney XD, whatever the fuck they're calling it now.

Other than that, I don't see anything really happening. I hate Disney but they typically know what they're doing.
