You can also skip it without it even starting the fight if you buy one of the 9999g items right before too. It is possible, but all you get out of it is a line where Muffet thanks you, so it's really not worth it for any secret reason or anything.

I am at the Mettaton fight. So far, I love Papyrus, Sans, Muffet and Undyne. I hope Muffet is in it more.
Spoiler for Regarding Muffet:
She's not, unfortunately. She's one of the Kickstarter Backer characters, so that's probably why.
I mean, I think the idea of the fight is interesting at least?
Guy spent $1000 to have this character in the game by the way, same as Muffet, and he's about the most hidden thing in just about any game to come out in the last decade.
I dunno what the situation is, but to me it seems like Toby didn't want him in the game, but was obligated to put him in, or something. Which I dunno, seems kind of weird. You'd think the guy would either want a refund upon finding out, or give Toby permission to make some changes or something so he did fit in better and could be put in the game proper.
Question for everyone that's played/playing this game, what did you name the fallen human, and why?
I went with Worm. After watching the intro, I felt that the PC went up into the mountain to get away from the world, because they felt like dirt. So I picked a name that reflected that.
Toby himself said he thinks all the kickstarter characters are great. So I'm p sure he's fine with So Sorry. Muffet is best though. ALSO, the guy who had So Sorry says he LOVES how he was put into the game. So. yeah.
Also So Sorry was likely a $500 donation, like Muffet. That still leaves one $500 one and the $1000 fan-troll somewhere that we have no idea where. Some people have thought that the hidden random encounter in front of the mystery Snowdin door is one though?
