Default Star Wars: Episode VII

Not much news on this other than J.J. Abrams has been tapped to direct.

Might be good. Might be bad.

At least you know Abrams gives a shit about what he's making.

Might be Star Wars Episode VII: Flare of the Lens.

I like Abrams. Don't know what to expect from this though.

Might be a good time to rewatch Star Wars though, heard about this good-sounding order to watch them dubbed the Machete Order. I also heard about some great Despecialized Editions some guy worked on through that link, that I am going to totally download.

I laughed. When I first heard he'd be directing, I also imagined a Star Wars filled with lens flare.

My concern is where they go with the main characters from here. If you take any cue from popular Star Wars books, Luke rebuilds the Jedi Order, and Han and Leia go and have a couple of Jedi kids. All these people continue to play major roles in the franchise -- again, according to popular books. So what do you do with the actual actors? It's been 30 years since they were last in a Star Wars film -- they're kinda old. Do you just add them back in and act like it's a huge timeskip, or do you replace the actors with lookalikes or new ones, or do you focus on other characters and make reference to the old ones?

That's all assuming the original characters are the main characters. There's no reason you can't have people like Luke or Han in more of a support side character role. Actually, it's been mentioned that Mark Hamill is in talks to come back as Luke. Harrison Ford has expressed interest in returning as Han, too. I'd be shocked if Carrie Fisher came back, though.

Yeah, I figure that it will follow new characters and maybe have the old actors come back as, like Nami said, side characters or what not.

Seeing an old Han Solo would be pretty great anyway.

The last time I saw Mark Hamill was in the bonus features for Arkham City. He looks like shit.

I think Abrams is a pretty uninspired choice. Not necessarily a bad thing but it kind of duh. Hopefully we get more deets soon.

At least if she comes back, they won't have to duct tape her boobs again.

considering he publicly turned them down, which means he's just doing it for some huge paycheck.

They should just make it a film about the Jedi Knight series of games.

Most likely it'll star Admiral Thrawn as our villain if they bring back the original characters. He's certainly one of the bigger antagonistic figures in the universe.

Thrawn would be great. Hell, they could even do the Emperor Palpatine clone. McDiarmid is very much alive and hasn't lost his touch.

I think the best thing to do is base the movie on "The Droids" animated series.

KOTOR 2 the movie.

Not having to deal with the gameplay, and having a complete ending? 5 stars.

Default Star Wars: The Force Awakens

So, the trailer for this drops this week. May as well make a thread for this shit.

Unless it already has one. If so, fuck it, I'll merge them later.

EDIT: It does and I'm the dumbshit that made it. MERGING.

I was going to post a stupid picture, and then I realized it was from 9gag so I'm editing it to change that.

Anyway, I am so fucking excited. Nervous as hell, but so excited.

Not sure if legit, some of the voices from this were bits from the force unleashed.

Edit: I'm pretty sure it isn't legit
