When I was younger, I used to have a lot of nightmares, really bad ones that had me waking up in tears.

They were so common and so bad at one point, I was afraid of being alone at night, even with lights on and while watching TV or something.

While I was alone in bed, every sound was a murderer breaking into the house or a bloodthirsty monster coming to eat me alive, or something awful my imagination thought up. My parents were no help as far as support either.

The nightmares and the fear of being alone at night went away eventually, couldn't say how long it all lasted but it was a few months at least.

I think the absolute worst night was where I had aome dream involving a giant bug-like creature, that was chasing me around what looked like a grocery store at night and all of the lights off. It pushed a shelf down, crushing my legs, then ate my head off in one loud bite.

I woke up, cried my eyes out until I was dry as a bone, then stayed up for the rest of the night jumping at every sound.

Yeeee-up.

I honestly don't know what might have caused it all, the sudden rash of nightmares, but it didn't leave any sort of long term effects, besides some particularly bad memories.

Well that's good. Do you generally have a good dream recall, or do you only remember those bad ones?

It's very inconsistent.

Sometimes I can remember a dream as clear as when I first had it, days, weeks, months, even years later. Sometimes I'll forget most of a dream the moment I wake, unable to recall it even if I lay there and think back for awhile.

Good or bad dreams, doesn't really matter, there are some wonderful dreams and some awful nightmares I remember having in Grade school quite well. Some mornings I'll wake up, feel either happy or scared or whatever, but remember almost nothing of the dream itself.

Interesting. I remember the scarier ones better, I've found. I've done what you've described, though, waking up with a feeling left by the dream but not remembering any details. It's a weird sensation.

I think it's worse waking up from a good dream and forgetting it right away, than remembering a nightmare, at least I think that now.

I hate that feeling of waking up, knowing you had this great, happy dream, but besides the initial feeling I can't recall a single detail. It's like finding something valuable like a $20 bill or something, then losing it before you can spend it. Or something.

Yeah, I agree. What's the best dream you've had, that you remember?

Besides sexual ones, most involve adventure of some kind, me as a heroic warrior exploring deep dangerous places and defeating evil.

Often they involve characters I like, not necessarily ones fitting the the 'theme' of the dream. Like some kind of fanfiction. It wasn't uncommon for me to fight Diablo Lord of Terror as a Pokemon Trainer, or fight beside Sheena from Tales of Symphonia against zombies, or explore a deep dark cave full of skeletons with my trusty laser rifle to protect me.

Another common trait my good dreams have is me being or striking it rich, and enjoying my vast fortune buying whatever I want. Giant pizzas bigger than a house, every videogame ever made, my own transformer, Jurrasic Park (as an actual, functioning vacation destination), and a lot of other dreams like that.

Adventure and money, one or both are involved more often than not. Beyond that though, it's hard for me to really pick one dream and go into serious detail, it's difficult putting the whole of them into words.

If I order at a restaurant, I say Coke.

Otherwise, 99% of the time I say Pop.

If you could have your own series of novels, what would they be about?

Do you mean like an author, or just a reader?

If the former I'd love it if I had the capability to write those big-ass strategy guides you can buy at some book stores for games. I'm not all that good at writing fiction, and there's nothing else I think I'd be proficient enough at writing about as far as non-fiction goes.

As a reader, I dunno, I don't read much these days, in fact I've got about a half dozen books I've been meaning to read right now. I like any sort of post apocalyptic or fantasy setting, so more of those I guess?

I would like the damn Witcher novels to get translated fully already, like, only a quarter of them are so far.

Interesting.

If given the money, time, and tools to make a movie, what would you make?

A half decent adaptation of Uncharted maybe? Seems like the people in charge of that are doing terribly despite the huge potential and how simple the whole thing could be.

Plus, it'd be cool being known as the person responsible for making the first genuinely good videogame based movie.

When I used to read often, I'd read a lot of popular stuff, like Harry Potter, the Lord of the Rings and the Hobbit.

There was also a DragonLance series I was a huge fan of, "The New Adventures", which went on for quite awhile and probably still is, about half the books I own are from that series.

The Warcraft novels I read a lot of when I was still playing World of Warcraft, but I haven't touched them since the Lich King novel came out.

There was also Jurassic Park, which I read many times.

So, basically, fantasy novels.

I have not read Conan the Barbarian, or seen any of the movies.

Maybe when I get back into reading I will.

Why do they call it "chili" when it's so hot?

Favorite Batman villain, in general? Least favorite?

How good is your memory?

Fantasy game weapon preferences: Sword, axe or mace? Bow, crossbow, setting appropriate firearms or throwing weapons? Fire, ice or lighting magic? One handed weapon plus shield, dual wielding, or a two handed weapon? Slow but powerful, or fast and weaker? If you dual wield, same weapon type (ex: two swords), or two different types (ex: sword and axe).

Non-fantasy: Shotgun, sniper rifle or assault rifle as a primary weapon? Pistol, revolvers/magnum, or SMG as a secondary weapon? Grenades, or mines? Rocket launcher or grenade launcher?

Mr. Freeze, least favorite would be. Least favorite, I don't really have one, but I'm not as huge a fan of the Joker as everyone else seems to be.

My memory is awful, borderline mental illness, I'm not even joking. I'll forget names, directions, instructions and tasks very quickly and it takes a lot of reminders for me to remember a lot of things. I've forgotten a lot of things that I regret forgetting, happy memories most would remember into old age, it's depressing sometimes.

Axe, because they're badass. Crossbow, why I really can't explain. Ice because they usually have extra effects like slow. Two handed because I like dealing a lot of damage even at the expense of speed or defense. Slow and powerful weapons for the same reason. If I dual wield, it's double axes, or axe and mace, depends on a lot of factors.

Shotguns, because they are the best things ever (and I can't aim worth shit), revolvers because like with two-handed melee weapons, I like lot's of damage over other statistics.

Oh, ah, yes, since Pooka was the one to bump the thread I didn't get the chance to say this, but I feel like writing a lot of stuff again so I would love some more questions.

I wish I had actual creativity, then I could channel some of my writing cravings into a story or something, but this thread has been satisfying that urge so far.

Would you like to see Squirrel Girl in a movie? If so would you want her to be the lead, a supporting character, or just a nice cameo? Actress? Any other details you'd want? Question mark?

If it wasn't for the fact Dr. Doom and Iron Man have their film rights own by two separate companies, I'd have suggested that they adapt her first appearance into said short film.

As for actors, I really don't know. Nobody really comes to mind! Someone with a lot of energy I guess.

Other details, make sure to throw in some parodies or poking-fun-at modern superhero movie stuff.

Oh, I came up with an answer for who to play as Squirrel Girl, maybe.

Ellen Page. She has the looks, and the personality sort of? She could pull of her personality at least. She's the only person I've thought of so far who even vaguely fits the role, so I dunno.
