I tried and failed. So I just bought the collector's edition with all the terrible extra crap since it was cheaper than just getting the game at regular price.

I got timed out three times during the ordering process and all of the different versions sold out on my fourth try.

Yeah, I don't know anybody who managed to grab it during that hour sale. It's a shame, but you should all still get it anyway. ;-)

Yeah, I agree. Video games should just be free. Nobody should get paid for putting out solid gameplay experiences. Ten dollars is probably too much.

Oh it has solid gameplay? I thought it was a NetherRealms game, sorry.

I wouldn't put it in my list of likes, tbh, no. I think the new MK is head and shoulders above the older entries, and I like some characters a lot.

Some of the features, though, are huge turnoffs to me. Clunky fullscreen gameplay and clunky animation , block button, NR's habit of patching every fifteen seconds with no real clue what they're doing ... a lot of stuff, really. Finding a 60% combo by mashing one button the first time I played didn't help.

Who are you primarily playing? I may or may not be able to at least point you in the right direction.

Shazam, Aquaman, Grundy, Black Adam, Nightwing, and occasionally Flash.

Suffice to say, Shazam and Aquaman are my main two.

I will say if you aren't combo-savvy to lay off of BA for a while until you wrap your head around dial-a-combo for a bit because you'll find the timing on some of his more extensive combos a bit stupid. Throwing out one special when you went for a completely different one is very disheartening when your execution hasn't hit a solid precision yet.

Shazam is pretty straightforward. First remember that his wake-up teleport is amazing now. In the corner you can literally pop your trait and combo the 112 string about 4 times into an Achille's Clutch for some massive damage. He's not too combo heavy aside from that (22 Herculean Might and 112 AC are probably your easiest meterless BnB strings to master) and relies a lot on his buffed teleport for mindgames, his psycho crusher for hard knockdowns, and his d3 for strong footsies. His Oki game is pretty fantastic and you should always try to keep you opponent guessing which throw you're going for. Train them to avoid your standing throw and you can pull psycho crushers and low throws on them all day. And never be afraid to chip away with bolts to help close in with teles and dashes when they try to play keep away.

If you really want something "fancy" to learn with him though try out 22HMmb b3 ji2 f223HM. It's about 35% for 1 meter, give or take a little bit.

Aquaman does rely on fat metered combos to deal obscene damage, but I don't think he's as hard to play as BA. I'm not sure what's really up to date but you can always try 22 db2 b12 db2 mb 22 db1 f2 1+3 for 43% and see if you can feel that out at all. I think if you can manage this you can manage anything Aquaman can throw at you so just go for it yo. Though if you want to try something a tad more simple, you could always just practice trident scoop into f2 1+3 to practice that timing a bit before you move on to that.

I don't play Grundy and now that his chain grab is clashable I really have no interest. Not sure about Nightwing and have barely touched Flash. Flash had some crazy Kabal shit for a half second iirc, but I'm pretty sure that was removed.

Also, 22 HM for Shazam also works for 22 Super if you really need it. Shazam should never have a full meter bar though so it isn't really any big game changer.

Conan reviews Injustice: Gods Among Us. Zod footage and general hilarity.

So this is a long shot, but is anyone here still playing this at all? I've been putting a lot of practice in and my Bane is getting scary, though I have some new tech I really need to work into my game. I'm also working on picking Zod up as my secondary over Shazam, though I'm still trying to learn how to correctly open up for my 30 - 40% BnB combos without having to rely on trait for each one.
