Default Torment: Tides of Numenera

http://www.pcgamer.com/2013/03/04/to...his-wednesday/

Spiritual successor to Planescape: Torment, coming to Kickstarter this Wednesday.

Planescape: Torment is one of my favorite games ever, definitely in my top three at least, so I'm excited, but also sceptical. It could be amazing, or it could be my second "Tales of Symphonia 2", a game that follows a game I loved, that I ended up despising.

If you haven't played Planescape: Torment before, I highly recommend it if you enjoy stuff such as Dragon Age or Dark Souls. Very interesting world, with very interesting characters, and in my opinion it's even aged quite well compared to other older WRPGs. Best place to get it, I'd say, is Good Old Games, $10, comes with a bunch of free stuff, no DRM or clients.

Between this, the Witcher 3, Wasteland 2, Project Eternity, and quite a few other titles. I feel like it's a very good time to be a western RPG fan.

More great looking games coming out in the next two years, than I'd say have come out in the last several years.

Here's the Kickstarter page

Lot's of details about the game.

Also, already has earned over $450,000, it hasn't even been half a day yet.

I really wanna donate to this myself, at least enough for a physical copy + art books and such.

I am actually really disappointed that this isn't in the Planescape setting. There is so much material there, but I see why they changed it.

Already made its goal and then some. Also Pat from TBFP endorsed this on their Facebook page so expect it to blow up even more.

I was too at first, but I realised, before playing PS:T I knew nothing about the universe and ended up loving it, and I know nothing about the new universe they're using for this successor, so it could be the same scenario.

The news of the game getting funded makes me wanna go back and play PS:T. I hasn't played it with mods yet, and GoG has a simple list of ones worth getting. First thing I'll be playing when I get my PC back.

Forgot to mention, funding was successful.

They're currently at $2,616,474, out of the $900,000 goal. Will most likely break 3 million before the end.

It's one of the most popular and well received isometric RPGs, behind Baldurs Gate 2 and the Fallout Series. Plus a lot of people consider the story to be one of the best in any genre of gaming.

Chris Avellone is joining the development team once the kickstarter reaches 3.5 million. Lead designer of Planescape Torment as well as a lot of the best WRPGs of the era.

Currently at $2,872,876 with 14 days to go, so getting to $3.5mil shouldn't be an issue.

It's out now as an Early Access Title on Steam.

$49.99 Canadian, so I'm guessing $39.99 USD.
