So hey. Somebody kick my ass if I don't at least finish the blackwashing on this Rampage I'm working on. So many of my figures take so long just because I don'twork on them.
Something so easy as just applying a full body wash and details shouldn't take me 2 months to do.

So I painted as much as I could. Didn't have the forsight to dissassemble the guy (which is a first for me), so I have to wait for shit to dry. So today was about as good of a success as I could have hoped for without fifty backlogged customs to do.
Oh wait I do have fifty backlogged customs to do, but my desk only holds 2 at a time.
Also, you guys remember when my jaw was broken? I still yawn with my mouth shut because of that.

So asshat has put Megs into the postal system, which was his last chance to fuck me over.
Here's hoping all goes as planned.

So it's 4AM. By which I mean it's 7AM. Holy shit my mind is fried.
But yeah. It's kind of distressing me how these all-nighters are becoming more common place. I remember once having an actual sleep schedual... now I just sorta pass out at some point.
Y'know what I miss? Sleep-deprivation seizures. At least those gave me some sort of timer on how long I could be awake.
I put on socks this morning to check the mail. I'm still wearing them. I don't think I've ever worn socks this long.
I just made coffee, but I think I'm too tired to drink it. Shame it should go to waste.
I should say something profound or something now since I'm at that point of tired where if I was driving I could be arrested for impared driving. 'Cause you only say some stuff when you're impared.
Umm...
On second thought, since i just spent 5 minutes staring at the keyboard waiting for something profound to pop into my head, I'm just going to give it a rest. You don't get any Deej secret thoughts right now. Fuck you I'm tired.
=edit=
Holy shit I ramble so much when I'm tired.

So hey, out of all the ROTF figures out there, I realized something: I only own 5 of the mainline (that I intend to own). Two of them I'm keeping because they're broken, a third because it was a gift, and fourth because he's got very noticable stresslines in the plastic. The last one is Soundwave, 'cause I want one of my custom Soundwave's for my collection (he'll be done up some other time).
How many figures have been relased in this line? 40 or 50? I own five.
Didn't I used to collect these things?
On a related note: I won't have money on hand for shipping, meaning I can't (or rather won't because of asshat) put figures on eBay. And given how tight money is right now, it looks like I'm going to have to budget out customizing altogether for the time being. All I've got are my stock of paints and the figures I own before I'm done.
So this is it. I'm budgeting out TFs entirely from my budget. I'm still $400 behind on affording a new computer, let alone replacing a $60 game I broke, and that $60 credit I promised Doenan for Christmas.
...It was fun while it lasted. At least I still have enough paints to finish one or two more things. I suppose I have to pray I get some commissions or something.

Sucks, man. At least you know you've got real talent with customs.

On the bright side, it can't get any worse. This was the last for myself money to be budgeted out, so it's not like I have to choose between eating and havinga phone.
Well, okay, it could get worse. I could get hit by a car and spend the next 8 months in a coma. But that's just regular 'could-be-worse life,' so it doesn't really count.

I'd get a job here if there were any. Seriously. I keep asking around, making rounds to anything I'm qualified for within an hour's walking radius from my house, and there are no jobs. I'll hear of one, get there, and find out they filled it 2 weeks ago, or promised it to a family member.
Also, said things are in my art thread.

So I got paid $60 for housesitting today.
This means my phone bill will be mostly paid off. If I can squeeze an extra $20 out of my next cheque, it should be paid off in full.
This pleases me.

So yeah, decided I'd try and fix Megatron today.
Not only did I ruin the elbow he had (meaning I have to makea new one), I ALSO ripped off one of the LEDs. Found out the piece inside the crotch that pressed the button was busted. So then I ripped out the rest of the figure's electronics.
I am a pro at making a figure worse.
Also, did some math (you know where this is going). After I've made $820 in profits, I'll be 'back on my feet' and able to start buying stuff for me again. This isn't so bad because my mom's giving me $50 a week to put away for my computer, but only 'til I get anotehr $400.
I remember buying stuff for myself. That was pretty cool.

So I'm housesitting for the weekend (probably won't be on much btw). This should net me some extra cash.
Also, my phone bill's paid and I've got the money to pay off one of the $60s I've owed since the start of the year (remember that shitty start of the year?)
Only another $60 and I'm back to my baseline level of being-in-the-hole.
Starting to get really sick of being either in debt or not having a computer, so I'm going to keep chipping away at the computer funds. I'll see about keeping a steady supply of flat black, maybe possible. If I can swing it.

So hey, there's a Super Nintendo Super Scope at a local(ish) shop. I also believe tehre's an original NES 'fff-TWAAAAANG' gun at the nearest Value Village.
I'm pretty tempted. This is why I hate being broke.

So expecting to fail is pretty hard on your self-confidence.
Seriously, I've expected failure on every custom since Megs. I honestly thought "now I can put him on ebay and watch him not even make the retail cost" when I finished Nemesis Prime.
Honestly I'm starting to find it hard to sit down and paint.

So yeah. I'm going to finish off my Legends Devastator, Ryan's Megs, and Frent's Magnus.
And then I'm done kitbashing.

So I was just on the radio. My mom's got a Star Trek trivia segment, and I was 'the expert.' Don't suppose any of you were in Sydney, Nova Scotia and happened to hear that?
That was pretty fun.

So my last auction will cost me roughly $211. Fortunately I already have one of the figures. This includes shipping, ebay fees, taxes, paints, and everything else.
$211 is the goalpost. Watch as I amazingly fail to make even $100.

So I'm doing up a Legends-class Devastator. Not sure what I'm gonna do with him, since I don't intend to keep my customs as of my indefinate break.
Would anyone like to call dibs?

So I was awoken this morning when one of the dogs stepped on my neck, (these are the dogs I'm babysitting; I just say housesitting 'cause it's easier).
Later, the same dog gets off his leash and runs off. So I spend half an hour following him, trying to catch him. After heading halfway across town (seriously the walk back was like 15 minutes), I caught him because he realized the lake was cold.
He was playing 'you-can't-catch-me,' the fucker. I had to go into the lake up to my ankles to get him, screaming at him at the top of my lungs, and then holding him by the coller the entire walk home. Needless to say I am not pleased.
I just wanna be done and go home.

So hey, does anyone have $5USD in their paypal account they could lend me? eBay's really starting to bitch at me for not paying my fees. I'm only short $5 too, but I can't get into town to get to my bank during business hours.
I'll pay you back in 2 weeks.
Alternatively you could commission a figure and pay through paypal.

So I'm done housesitting. Got paid.
Am kinda happy.
Also, reposted from my art thread:
So, a thought occured to me. Rather than flat-out quitting kitbashing entirely and waiting to forget this year ever happened before starting back up again, I came up with a better idea.
I'm gonna be doing commissions for the cost of materials and shipping for any forumite who wants them. The whole reasoning behind this is that I think it'd be a better idea to do some stress-free figures for awhile, as opposed to not doing any figures, getting rusty, and whatnot.
I'll do up any you want, really. Anything I think I can do anyway. If you ask for a Masterpiece Devastator, you can fuck right off. And if you joined and asked for this like immediately, you probably won't get one. Old forum goers get first dibs.
That being said, I'm open to 5 figures. When those are done, I'll do 5 more, and so on.
Anyone who wants one just PM me and we'll discuss stuff.

Maybe you should announce what you're already planning for folks, to stoke the fire.

Well, I'm just keeping the at cost thing on the forums. Let's just say that my prices before I started charging nothing for the labour involved were, in the words of other customizers, "doing both myself and the customizing community a great injustice."
Really, just doing enough figures should get me some full paying commissions, but the total lack of money on my end means I either have to get commissions or stop customizing entirely until some time when I actually can spend money on myself again.
And the post here, my art thread, and the mention in my sig is really note enough. Not like it deserves its own thread or anything.

So, here's the plan:
1. Instead of using the money I've got saved up for War for Cybertron, I use it as a paint fund and only touch the money for paints. This means I'll probably miss out on the one preorder bonus I've ever cared about.
2. Paint up my Classics figures, since G1 sells like crazy. I love these toys and they're gonna be hard to replace (since they've been out of production for 4 years). I need to do these ones in particular because I need something big to attract buyers.
3. Prey I get a client before I run out of figures or paint money.
With any luck at all I should be able to make enough back selling these customs to preorder War for Cybertron just in the nick of time.
My luck sucks, but here's hoping for the best.

So I FINALLY changed over my phone plan. Got rid of unlimited long-distance since I never used it. And $0.05 a minute is pretty good plan, which is like $3 an hour.
Saving this $30 a month will be a ton of help.
Watch as I amazingly still go broke!

Going broke at record speeds!
So y'know what I remembered? I have to buy a new computer. So the thirty bucks a month has to go towards said computer. And then an aibrush and compressor. And then new shoes and a new winter jacket. Oh yeah, and I have to replace this broken Dragon Age: Origins at some point too.
So yeah, broke again.
